For me, having a friend helps the most :) And on that note I recommend-www.interpals.net. I joined it last year and it is an amazing site. There are little to no scammers on there and a massive variety of people looking for penpals, language exchange, friendship some even love I think! :D Seriously, I recommend taking a look, as soon as you do I am sure you will feel comfortable there, it's a bright site which is a correct representation of my experience there. I have friends from Russia, Germany, Canada, Turkey, Africa, America and some other places on there. And from my experience I have been blessed because I had been busy recently and so not had time to actively search for many people but I genuinely received loads of new messages from new people all the time and I am sure other people on there have just as great profiles as me if not more so, so there is a big database of keen individuals wanting to learn new languages, meet new people etc. Give it a go :')

Everyone have their opinion of learning language. By my opinion it might be hard to learn French, if you intend to learn it proffesionally. I don't know any sites to learn French, (but I prefer French books) so my thoughts are that you might search some videos about it, do a little research about it and you might find sorces that might help you.

Having the knowledge of a foreign language does help in many ways. The knowledge of languages like french is very handy as it is spoken allmost all over the world. In addition to the various job oppurtinities that come along with the knowledge of a foreign language the person also gets to know about the culture and the way of life of the native speakers of the languages.
