I have been dabbling with Twitter off and on and I was curious, do you feel my efforts are wasted? Has anyone found this to be an effective means to find new clients and establish a bigger profit margin and to help network better with others of similar interest?

For me.. Facebook Fan Pages with Legit Likers is one of the most easiest way for marketing, Cos I have a friend, and he has over a million followers, but half of his followers are fake, or not legit, so I was wondering, that you can't spread marketing links, or tools to a social network that was used for other resources, and not for marketing, Go for fanpage, or fb group page, :)

I honestly think Twitter would be more effective, but like you said it's probably much harder to get a real following with real twitter users rather than bulk loads of fake twitter users(obviously of no value to anyone.)

Nice idea, but most of us wants to have an easy money, that is why they're trying to exploit each site that they discovered But don't try it here on MyLot, cos MyLot is so very strict, they know what we do everyday, so there is no way to exploit this site

It's all about your audience Twitter CAN be an effective marketing tool and lots of people have utilized it in their income opportunities. I have a little under 700 followers but most of them just follow me because they hope that I will follow them back. You have to get ones that are interested in what you tweet about; if you don't have them that won't give two s***s what you tweet about and won't visit any links you post or anything.

Yeah, the hard part about Twitter's structure is that it's built around those that already have a huge following. My experience thus far is that it's been hard to get people to follow me naturally. Although I have a bit of a following as it is through some of my business accounts, it's hard to boost that following as most posts either are seen and buried in seconds, or not seen at all. Quite frustrating. How did you get your followers?

Its pretty odd but I get followers out of the blue; I usually don't even bother to promote my twitter and one day I will wake up and have at least 6 notifications from twitter that I have new followers.

Perhaps they're just people hoping to get new followers just to boost their count. I am kind of guilty of doing that to some degree. The one person here brought up a good point that bulk followers are still bulk followers. Even of those people, even if 1% paid attention to what I am promoting on a daily basis, that's a couple hundred a day for my services!

Hi louie! I am using twitter to promote my articles in my writing sites and so far I am getting good result from it. I find good views from twitter as compared to that of facebook. But I can only share my opinion about writing articles with sites which pay per view. I don't know about other business. Have a great day!

Maybe it is, since most people are on it. Except me and some folks I know that is. And since it reaches lots of people, it lets information dissemination so easy.

Most of the people with lots of followers just seem like spam-fests. Not really sure what the appeal is, but perhaps that's where the market is nowadays to find clients.

What methods do you use to find potential clients? If you're into that kind of thing.

If you have alot of followers it can be. I have like 700 there. I post my blogs there a few times a week. Im sure I get views of it.

Yeah, I can see the benefit of having a lot of followers but in order to actually obtain followers in the first place I have to somehow be found in the first place and it's hard. How did you get your followers there? Do you have a good Follow:Follower ratio? Aka more followers than you're following? I feel if a person doesn't a lot of it can just be wasted traffic as people are more likely just following you if you follow them and that doesn't really bring in good leads. I have 90 so far, just started a few days ago. I think I could probably get over 1000+ by the end of the month, but will they be viable followers, or am I wasting my time? That's my biggest worry!

I believe as in any marketing medium, getting one to two percent response is very good, that is why having more followers will help - law of large numbers. Other things to look for in the followers is the followback ratio and activity. So don't worry about wasted traffic.

For me, I don't think so...unless you're very popular so that your followers will always check on your tweets. I still prefer facebook compared to twitter.

I think it is an effective tools for marketing as long as you have many followers and you tweet once a day. This is especially if you want to gain many traffic to your websites or to your written article. I am not sure, but this is according to what I see.
