Do you see yourself becoming a teacher?

This was the question given to me when I talked to the ministry head of the Sunday School Class. And I said, yes. Despite no training. Just faith. For a year I was just observing, assisting, mentored by the teachers and eventually given responsibilities. After a year, I was handling the toddlers class twice a month. This month is my second year in the ministry as a teacher to the toddlers (1-4 y/o). Only by God's grace was I able to I didn't think that I would become a teacher. The crunchy laughs of the children, the innocent faces while listening to every story, their smiles when you see them, the sweetness of their voices, their honest comments to my ugly drawings, these are the rewards of becoming a teacher. To all teachers, whether a professional or not, work may be full but the prize is always worth it!

I must confess that I did consider a career in teaching when I lost a previous job. I looked into gaining the further training and qualifications... The only thing that stopped me from a career in teaching was the simple fact - I DON'T LIKE OTHER PEOPLE'S KIDS

I have never planned to be a teacher, but I become a teacher. No experience, no skills, but have a sense of responsibility. I think I will be a good teacher in the future, experience can be accumulated, skills can be learned. I will have two years to master the basic skills for being a teacher and a life long time to further my skills.

As a child i always wanted to be a teacher. My parents didn't want me to. My father was a grade school teacher but he quit and became a politician. He was better at being a public servant than a teacher. I graduated with two degrees but none of them was connected to teaching. Now i'm a foreign teacher in Thailand and i love my job.

I love teacher job two reason behind this first I love child and I got lots of child as students and second is when the students do the respect us on any place like say good morning teacher then I feel happy. I think the best job is teaching because we can also learn more while we are teach to others.

before the notion of the Filipino families, if the child is bright, they will say, take Engineering, or be a doctor or be a nurse or architect or accountant. if the child is du mb, parents would say... just be a teacher, it is easier to pass and finish. I never wanted to be a teacher, in fact, aside from what I told you above, the pay is very low. I took Computer Science for the field of Information Technology during my time was booming. After graduation, I never have dreamed of becoming a teacher, but then opportunities knocked and I got a teaching job for grade school. LOL. and until now I am teaching. what you have mentioned above are all true.

I decided to become a teacher when I was in my early twenties. I increased my qualifications first with retaking my Maths General Certificate of Education and A Level of English Literature. I was successful at passing both of them with high enough grades. Off I went to do a degree and teaching qualification at the University of Wales. My specialism is teaching 3 to 8 year old children. I am qualified to teach up to 11 years old. I like teaching Year 1 which is aged 5 to 6 and Year 2 which is aged 6 to 7 years old.

I can't see it ever happen to me in the near future, may be it is not easy to become a 'good' teacher like i want to believe, one need to possess good qualities and is patient enough to depart his knowledge to the young mind and ready to serve the need of the students selflessly should only become a teacher, i don't think i possess those type of personality and quality to qualify myself on this occupation.

No, not at all. I'm not that great at explaining things. I'm too impatient, either. Also, I wouldn't know how to assess problematic kids of any types.

There are many times that I really see myself as a teacher, instilling and imparting knowledge and wisdom to my students. The sad part in today's setting is that teachers are viewed as a low-paying job and a job for people who doesn't have future plans in life.

My mom is a teacher so I have a chance to see first hand a teacher at work whether it is at home or school. Yes, a teachers job doesn't end when classes end. Teaching is always something that I would want to give a try should opportunity present itself. Most probably I will be teaching classes according to my degree. If ever I went that path, that is.
