Have you ever reached a saturation point when all you can feel is that you are overworked, underpaid, bored, stressed and you cannot enjoy your job anymore? Do you find any other ways to turn your life around if you just cannot leave that job which is your bread and butter? If you are working for long years in one job and doing all the same routines, it is not impossible to feel that job burn out. The best thing to do if its possible is to talk to your boss and ask him to redefine your job. It might help somehow if you can be transferred to a different line of work where you feel you can be more productive. Experimenting on something different might bring back the zest to love your work if you cannot choose leaving it.

I have, been that way for me the last year. But I have to make it here. I have to work out the stress. I need to work day and night to survive. i do that for my son and I. All worth it.

This is what we should do when we are suffering from job burnout. If we cannot leave the job, we just need to outdo the stress of it and find better motivation to help us pull through. thanks for your response.

It is common for one to feel burned out. I think it is really impossible to not feel bored, burned out or too tired of a job or a work. Usually it will come to one's working life. Most jobs can be repetitive right? This has happened to me, when i was in my first job, that is where i have stayed for about 6 years. I did not get bored, even if the tasks are the same, there were different challenges but i guess sometimes you will think if that is really what you want, there are a lot of what ifs, there are a lot of questions and you are curious, you want to know what is out there so you are feeling too tired and burned out because you will need to see changes in the environment too.

Believe me or not, I am already working for almost 20 years in the same job. I do feel burnout sometimes but my job is quite flexible that I do not wish to settle for something else. I am only thinking all the benefits I get from this rather than the toxic things it causes me. I get by anyway. Thanks for your comment.

I used to work in a job most people dream about, many have told me that i am working in paradise in a profession not many do. For more than a decade , i was a scuba diving instructor, basically island hopping from Malaysia to Indonesia to Thailand island dive resorts .My uniform was a wetsuit and when i started so many years ago , i had a passion for scuba diving that aches.Work basically means teaching others how to dive safely and upon course commencement i issue certification that enables students to dive anywhere in the world or when not teaching, i guide divers into the dive sites. sounds like so much fun and a fantastic job which it is but after an amount of years and having to go underwater everyday, 2 to 3 times daily ,it gets to a point when there is burn out. just like many other jobs, too much of it and too long. the passion i had fizzled to dread after a point, dread of going into the water .so much so that i decided to go back to the city and get a nice and dry job.even the best jobs in the world can burn you out if you spend too long doing it

When I am in the situations you mentioned above,I always try to get a break to see things in perspective. sometimes, you need to get away form what you do to gain some sense of self and purpose on what you are ding. If I'm not satisfied yet, I might quit but usually taking a break works for me.

I easily get bored with my job and I easily burn out. I burn out faster than most people. My limit is 2 months, 3 months is already agonizing for me. That is why my jobs are usually short and contractual. I want to change so I can enjoy my job more.. Maybe if I met more interesting people in my work place I will be less stressed.

I agree. A discussion with your boss might bring unexpected and better results. I am sure that through this, a win-win situation can be achieved. Another solution is to ask for a short vacation or RnR. Just to reenergized and to refresh. That way, you can focus back to your work with renewed vigor. Sometimes, all we need is a little break from the daily grind. And if all else seemed futile, you can start searching for another job. But never ever quit your job without having a ready job to move to.

It is hard to work many years and be treated unfair not to give a nice raise or a good Christmas bonus and yes over worked and feel you have no value but only you can make the change but I would hold onto your job till you find a new one
