I admit, I use to be addict in smoking way back last year. I consumed 8 to 12 cigarettes a day for 2 years. But when I was able to focus myself on the internet, I forgot to smoke since I always doing internet at home. Because of that, my focus is now on the internet that I'm always online for 6 to 15 hours a day. My question is, does this internet addiction really help a lot in terms of quitting my smoke habit or it is the same bad thing?

Yeah I know the feeling of being addicted to something because you feel that you're already hooked up. For me, I'm looking for a better way to lessen my addiction with the internet and at the same time, avoid being addicted again to smoking.

Well, i guess most addiction are bad. or any addiction. Although smoking is quite worse than internet addiction. I guess internet addiction is still okay as long as you don't lose sleep and still continue to eat when you are hungry and not just use the computer all day long.

I borgie, I think that is really nice that you were able to replace your smoking addiction with an internet addiction. I guess that is better, at least for my perspective, that being that you won't have to smoke anymore and you won't be wary of catching a lung disease. Being on the net and sitting in front of the computer all the time may have its risk as well. I'd say when you no longer have physical activity then you won't get rid of the fat you accumulate due to the lack of exercise.. but of course this depends too, others can sit all day and still don't collect calories. hahah ;) Too much of everything is just bad, if it is internet though, eventually you will be tired and be bored, too. right? ;) It is good if you use your time on the internet wisely, like stay on it and read books, articles, etc. :D

I am not sure if the Internet addiction can help one in quiting smoking but as it has helped you to get rid of smoking, I would request the smokers in mylot to try it for themselves.

Though I do not smoke but I believe it helps a lot. I used to be very addicted to playing video games, spending long hours keeping my fingers busy but these days, I convert those time to internet and web surfing. Same is applicable to smoking.

Smoking damage your lungs and your life. Its good that internet helped you somehow but internet or more clearly computers damage you too so i. Think you should do other healthy stuff and reduce the hours on internet. Do not be afraid that if you go away you will smoke more... to stop that addiction its need lots of will power, with that you don't need more.

its both the same bad thing, but its more good to be addicted in internet. smoking can harm you lungs while internet addictioun can harm your aye and your brain, not really the internet, its the computer. some are both doing smoking while playing computer in a same time. both of them is really not advisable. hope you can get rid of being addictive.
