I know that some people still can work although they are depressed. I wonder do they take many breaks during working time? My mother said these people usually take meds in the morning before heading to work. Personally, as for me if the job makes me depressed I won't go to work there anymore, and I find something more relax type of work to do. What about you?

It depends where the depression is coming from. If it's from the work itself, those people are probably taking anti-depressants. I don't get depressed often. But when i do, i don't let it affect my work. That's why my friend's told me i'm really a professional. I take my work seriously and i don't want any problems affect my job, unless the job itself is my problem. If it's the latter, i would quit.

I think i depends on the professional some extend. If a person is working too hard most probably he might get depressed and tired at some point.

Best to find out the source of depression. And it is a must that depression will not affect work efficiency If you are really bother, sad or any negative feeling better file a leave from work and spent time praying, reading the Bible, eat healthy food and relax. Do you know that eating style affects moods?

I think it is good to take a break once in a while and to do relaxation and also to visit different places. I think working hard might make a person depressed. I also was suffering from burnout syndrome with lots of work and took a break and I think break always make it better.

Vacation is the cure for burn out. I went to the beach last January and it relaxed my body and mind. Prayer can help burn out too.

I also think that prayer can do miracles in our life and also helps to relax and to calm our minds.

My mother has been on medication for clinical depression for over six years now. However, she has also been working the entire time as well. She doesn't take more breaks because of the fact that she is depressed. Instead, she says that going to work makes her have a lot of self-worth and therefore working is something that she really does enjoy. I think that this is something that will be different for different people. What is the case for her is not necessarily the same thing as is the case for another person that suffers from clinical depression.

Some depressed people would probably stay in bed and cry all day, or sit in a corner and eat a lot and keep on thinking. That is not the way of helping oneself get out of the whole. When I got depressed because of some issues before, yes, I cried and there were sleepless nights. But I try to be productive during the day. I try to ward off the thought and keep myself busy with just anything that I can hold of. I fear of snapping out of my sanity. And so I pray to God that he may show me the right way to be able to accept what has happened and give me strength to have the will to start anew.

Good suggestion! Find a job that you really like. One of my friend resigned from his job and became a food Vendor. He sells every afternoon. He is happy.

Some depressed people take anti depression medication. Others try to think more positively while at work then go out for friends in the evening to chat in an interesting way. I think a sports center is a wonderful place for healthy exercise and relaxation. My local one has a spa room with a sauna, a steam room and a jacuzzi. Energetic dancing is very stress busting and can make happiness. In warm weather a walk at the weekend can be wonderful and a cycle ride to work is stress busting. Yes, life for a depression person can be miserable with all the long term suffering. I believe an overseas vacation would be the ideal thing to do when the person can afford it.

It's an interesting question. There are lots of people who suffer from depression, I mean, the real psychological disease. Sometimes it's mistaken with someone just being burnt out or having a bad mood for a while. If someone feels really depressed, they should go to the psychologist asap. It's bad that there are people suffering from this, and that they may not have the time to seek expert help, so they are poisoning themselves with chill pills instead. If you feel burnt out, you may want to really change jobs or environments, and I'm pretty sure you're going to feel a lot better :).

Start each morning counting your blessings Then thank God for each one of them Then go about your day expecting it to be a good day Even when something wrong happens don't let it ruin your good mood That usually keeps me from being depressed no matter what's ahead I really don't like my job much but I'm still there There's just way too much personal drama going I find you can pretty much deal with anything life throws at you if you give it to God first
