counting down the days

it's really sad that i'm counting down the days until my next kidney stone surgery (24 days) I'm so uncomfortable and wish this could be all over with soon. I've tried calling the hospital but they can't move my appointment up at all. I can't imagine going this many more days being so sore. it's already been over a month of this pain.

I can only imagine. My husband has a history of kidney stones. He had one so bad about 4 years ago that they couldn't even remove it with the usual surgery. he had to have a stent for 3 weeks and after the 3rd attempt they finally got it out. if they hadn't gotten that last time he would have had major surgery through his back into his kidney. Hope you find some relief soon.

Kidney stones are the worst...beside childbirth! My husband gets them at least twice a year, but he's been lucky they've passed on their own. I've never had them, but from the look on his face when he gets them, I know it's excruciating.

I have heard them compared to childbirth...and some women I know said the kidney stones were worse. I have always tried to drink a ton of water in hoping that I would avoid ever getting one because I only have one kidney...I know that would be somewhat of a problem if it were serious.

That really stinks that you have that much longer that you have to wait before they will do the second surgery for your kidney stones. I've never been a victim of kidney stones, but my husband has been and I couldn't imagine him having been in more pain than he was in during the time that the stones were so bad. He ended up having to have a total of two surgeries for his stones. The first was an outpatient lithotripsy. The second was a manual removal and they did that as an inpatient. I hope that your procedure goes well and that you will be feeling better soon.

you and i are going through some of the same things. i have to wait to have my MRI done on my foot, before i can find out when i have surgery to take this ball out. until then it's just staying doped up on medications to help avoid the pain.

I can't believe that you are doing all that you are doing with this pain. Putting down floors, going to your kids events. You are wonderwomen! My sister was sick with this last October and she was so out of it. She couldn't do anything with a stent inside of her. It hurt for her to walk. I can't believe the hospital can't move it up if there happens to be a cancellation.
