I am many things. I am a human being I am a female human being I am a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. I am a Christian believer in God I am my boss's employee I am my co worker's boss sometimes I am a student of life, history, philosophy, religions, human nature, science, politics, medicine, writing, logic, ethics, languages, ok...you get the point. I like to learn. I am a person who has been hurt, I am a person who has hurt others. I am a person who cries, laughs, gets angry, gets sympathetic, gets stupid, gets corrected and who gets nostalgic. All of this is me. Not just one part, but many parts. If you choose to see only ONE of those parts does that mean you define me? Of course works both ways. So how do you see me, and how can WE see each other as complete human beings and not just ONE part?

Hi Deb! Great post to define yourself. Like you, I'm a kaleidoscope of 'colors'. I am sensitive, and try to be sensitive to others. I'm also direct, but also try to add a bit of tact when I talk to people. I know you are all the things you listed, because I've known you for quite awhile on here. I know you have been hurt by people who try to make you feel bad for your thoughts and convictions. I have hurt people and I've been hurt. It doesn't make us bad people if we don't always agree with others and they don't agree with us. Just knowing one or two sides of a person does not mean you can define them. Not at all. To define me: I'm happy I'm sad I'm a good communicator I'm shy I'm a writer I'm interested in health I'm interested in diseases and conditions I'm interested in nature I'm interested in the paranormal I'm intuitive I'm a daughter of God through adoption by Christ I love my bible Holding my bible us holding Christ I'm a daughter I'm a mother I'm a sister I'm a friend I make mistakes I try to learn from my mistakes Have a great day! You are a good friend if mine. I respect you very much.

Isn't it wonderful that we're all not the same? There would be no myLOt! what would we talk about? I thank you for your friendship, I value yours as well. You're down to earth. I like that. It is obvious you are a caring person, I like that even more. I realize that my personality is, for some folks, a bit off putting. All I ask of for them (those who are put off by my personality) is to realize that I MAY be put off by theirs as well. If not me, someone else may think they're not so easy to get along with either. We ARE all in the same boat. We all put our pants on one leg at a time so to speak. I am no better or worse and won't be labeled as worse due to being who I am. I do have strong convictions. I don't care for wishy washy attitudes. Everything may be beautiful, but everything is not always right. That's how I see my universe. I also realize I am not always right. But I will put up a good fight to be right. I guess that offends folks. If only they could know me in real life and I could know them...we'd be great friends!

If someone fails to see other folks as they REALLY ARE, it's THEIR LOSS.

This discussion was more about people who want you to leave part of you at the door when you come to visit. Yes, I agree, their loss. As I would lose if they were only seen in one dimension by me.

thank you for the discussion. I think when we get free of all these things that we leave just I and saying I and I... actually there is nothing like that. we are what we are. no matter how or what. as long as we are limited in our body we use word of I, but after that we understand how small I is.

Very interesting. We still however must relate to those around us. And there is no other way than to express ourselves by what we are as much as who we are.
