ooooppss...i got violation!

I was notified through my email that one of my discussions was deleted due to a violation of posting a similar content. This is really good because at least I would be very careful next time and MyLot seems to be generous enough reminding me specific mistake I made.
At times we are not aware that we have been posting some duplication especially when we are running out of things to discuss. This can be taken as a good lesson to be aware and responsible to every discussions we are about to partake.

Well, it often depends on how the subject is approached as to if it will be deleted as well. If it is a topic that is obviously over used or pretty much a copy of someone else it will be deleted or if it is topic people might find offensive. But overall there is a lot you can come here and talk about and share, so keep on posting and good things will happen.

Yes, its good that they are notifying us regarding our violations so next time we can aware of posting here in mylot.

If you are worried about posting things of your own that is too close to something you already wrote, a good tip is to keep a notebook of either your topics or the tags you use so you can check.
I also keep a notepad with ideas for discussions because sometimes there are a lot and other times you can't think of anything so you can go to your list and try to find one to talk about.

Another thought I had is that you can talk about a topic that has been stated but you have to do it in a different way.... the content needs to be able to be considerd it's own. Like if two people talk about rice, one talks about how to cook it and another how to store it, those would be ok because even though they are both about rice, they are different.

I got the same email of a discussion that I started being deleted. It wasn't because the topic was similar, it was because the topic didn't have a lot of replies.

Yeah, I think discipline is a key to the success of any forum. Its not just about the money but the ethics of the forum.

It isn't a serious fault especially since you are being a new comer, but keep proper caution. Just search for your theme of discussions before starting new discussions using MyLot search after selecting " Discussions".

It happened to me also. We need to be careful and research about it whether it’s already posted on mylot. So we won’t make same mistake. We also need to be aware about the content which we posted.
