Death Penalty

There's been an onging debate in my state on whether or not to abolish the death penalty. Apparenlty alot of people feel that the death penalty is inhumane or unconstitutional and therefore should be done away with. I've thougt about it for some time and I really don't understand the reasoning. Most of the time a person who gets the death penalty deserves it. I mean if you go out and harm people for no reason like (serial killers & rapists/murderers)and get sentenced to death for your crimes how is that inhuman? The crime the person committed is inhumane. There are some issues to be looked at like the innocent people in prison and on death row and whether the crime committed actually warrants death. But to abolish the death penalty altogether makes no sense to me. There are alot of people on death row who actually deserve to be there. What are some of your thoughts on this?
