I am feeling insecure in my work place

Have you worked with a boss for a long time. And if the boss is resigned then what you feel. For last 20 years I am working under a boss who is the same age of me. In my earlier company I have joined under him in 1992. After 8 years service in that company my boss has resigned and joined in another company in another location. After 2 months he called me and asked me whether you want to work with me again, then resign and join me in my new company. Accordingly I resigned the job and joined under him in a new office. For last 12 years he has sacked due to some politics in the office. He is the nice person, very social to all of the employees and managers even with the casual labours. He stood in this company like my local guardian. From last Saturday he has compeled to go on lang leave as my HOD says. I am not secured under HOD who is played to remove my boss because my boss was a good professional who brought the company from Zero leval to 100 Cr business. But to the chair game like politians doing, the HOD is played to secure his post and chair. But the result come as a nice and wise man, a professional who love to work and his profession has to leave the company. Now I feel insecure in the office. Any time anything will happen. So for last 2/3 days I feel very bad, I am unable to concentrate in my work. I feel that I will be harazzed in this office. I know it was done my the HOD alongwith 3 of the staff working with me. They do politics. Are you came such a situation? If so how you have over come this issue?
