Who's your hero?

My country, the Philippines, is a country of heroes. We, Filipinos, are a people of a positive disposition. We are flexible. We are helpful, honest people. We also take pride in being the top Christian country in Asia and the 5th in the world. I may be ignorant of the latest statistics (ironic for someone with a degree in Economics) as to how our country ranks in terms of the world's most corrupt, but I love my own nonetheless. I wouldn't exchange it for any other country. It is my deepest desire to see our people - and our country - rise up to "be an example of how to live a good life" minus the crab mentality. It is encouraging that these days, more and more Filipinos are getting known for excellence and integrity throughout the globe. I think we all have heroes in each of us, prepared to be released at the proper time. And we all look up to one or several heroes who inspire us not just to do better but to be better. Who's your hero?

My favorite national hero is Andres Bonifacio and it is his 150th birthday this year so I am excited for all the possible movies, TV shows, books that will be released on his life to inspire mine.

Haha. I really want to discuss El Presidente but I think I would be dismayed by the lack of responses. Or maybe not, you never know what interest people. Who's your favorite hero?
