I applied for a promotion at work today

1 of my jobs is ending in 4 weeks. The job that I will still have after these 4 weeks had a promotion available. They have been making me do this job for the last week and a half without the added pay. I figured if they are going to make me do it anyway, I may as well apply. It is a 15 percent raise. It is an internal position and only one other person was thinking about applying. Today was the last day to apply, so I went in and turn the application into my boss. He told me he was going to try to be allowed to hire both of us that applied for the position. He van ask me if I had ever considered a different position as well. It would be even more money but it would be at a different location. Something to think about I guess.

Good luck. For the time being I'm happy as is. We'll see how I feel in the fall after the kids are in full-day school.

If he said that then it means that he can't really make up hius mind but I will pray that he makes it up in favour of you. Consider the different location if it comes up too if it means more money.
I am in fact, looking for another Villa to manage. The apartment that I have managed for the past few months is being sold and I do need the extra income as I hate asking my children for extras

His problem is that the 2 of us that applied are also needed in another area of the store 2 days a week and he would need the CSS position a minimum of 4 days a week. That would make it a 6 day work week for whoever he picked.

Wow! It takes courage to apply for a promotion! congrats! Now I'm doing a kind of job where we can't really talk about promotions (I couldn't take up a full-time 9-to-5 job, as I'm still a student... so I translate articles to Hungarian from English at home :D). I hope you get the promotion!

I once offered by my boss for promotion on my 1st job, but I have decided to quit after finish my 1 year contract. I don't feel comfort with the work environment thats why I quit eventhough the salary is good. Thamkfully I found 2nd job that pays me as good as my 1st job.
