A Blessed Day for Christendom.

Tuned in on television soon as I arrived home at one o'clock in the morning, hoping to see white smoke come out of Sistine Chapel's chimney. Alas, after exactly an hour, I had to sleep, for I have to rise again in a couple of hours, and little did I know that just a few minutes after my head lulled to deep slumber, the white smoke I had been waiting for would bring good news, a new Pope has been elected. Pope Francis, a humble Argentinian, advocate of the poor, a Jesuit, breathing at 76 years with only one lung, is now the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, and of course, deep in the hearts of every Catholic, that includes everyone who calls himself a Christian. The great command is evangelize, bring the good news to people who do not know our Saviour, Jesus the Christ, the Son of the Most High. And with glad tidings, we obey, and are ultra excited, for now we have Pope Francis, the 266th Pope, in the line of Peter, the Rock to whom our Lord Jesus built His Church. By the way, Pope Francis, am sure, is dedicated to my favorite saint, Saint Francis of Assisi, the rich lad who turned himself away from material wealth and embraced the poor, the sick, the hungry, and loved the animals and nature. Rumor has it he run with the deer and flew with the eagles. Ain't that saying something? Pope Francis is sending us a message, let us listen and heed.

I just only know by reading several article from my other sites that I working more than 2 weeks already. The site flooded with several articles about the newly elected pope from Argentina. I didn't even know that the previous pope resigned until I read an article about his resignation. I also knew it in the site I am working now aside from myLot

Yesterday was a special day. I never saw the white smoke coming out of the chimney and the actual choice of the Pope and the announcement of Habemus Papam live. It was moving and I felt it was a once in a lifetime experience probably. I liked the new Pope, his innovative choice of name (rather than the usual names), and he seems to be a really humble and good natured person. May God lead him to lead the church and inspire many catholics to follow Christ's teachings.

e news on the new Pope a few hours ago. I was surprised they chose a Pope so soon ,tha the is Argentinian and Jesuit. Even though I am not Catholic I hope Pope Francis will be good for the church. Pope Francis has alot of work a head of him and what I hear he will be able to handle it.

Pope Francis, I gather, had been to extremely adverse situations in his life, the Papacy is definitely a huge responsibility, but the infallibility of the Pope is a blessing. He knows that, like St. Francis, he has to repair the church.

Hello Eileenleyva, I knew Tagle would never made it to the Papacy because he's only one year new into being a Cardinal and hasn't really proven himself to the public yet. this elected person was second ranking after Pope Benedict won it first. I noticed that he didn't dress that much and proves his simplistic attitude could give Catholics a new perspective in the religion. i slept around five in the morning

Knight, everything in God's time. My Mother said, when I told her about Cardinal Tagle as a prospective Pope, that our beloved Archbishop of Manila is still juvenile for the Papacy, and true enough, now we have Pope Francis, a Pope born before the war. Nevertheless, I see a parallelism between our dear new Pope Francis and our own Cardinal Tagle, they are both public transport commuters, friend of the deprived, academic, theological, very brainy, and yet most humble. Lucky Catholics, we are so blessed.

Hi eileen leyva: Definitely. What a lovely day and as days have passed I feel more convinced that the cardinals have made God's choice. Pope Francis is showing an extraordinary example of humility that we hardly say in people with power. Hope that God will guide his way and as Catholics, let's pray for him. ALVARO

I was surprised when i heard in the news this morning that they have finally chosen a Pope. My mother-in-law said , she heard it over DZMM's teleradyo last night. Well, just taking a look at the face of our new Pope, i know that he will be a good and long staying pope, because he isn't too old yet. He has a face that seemed to show his lots of experiences being with our Catholic faith. Now, we have a new one that will lead the flock.

I looked closely at his image, too, and I sense that he knows the huge task put on his shoulders, but he willingly accepted it. He asked us to pray for him. Later, on the radio, too, I heard that he retired from a post in Argentina by virtue of his age, and now he is Pope. All in the service of our Master.
