Welcome Pope Francis!

Yesterday, the day after my birthday the conclave voted a humble man to be the Vicar of Christ. Which particular saint Francis he has chosen to be named after I do not know, though I am excited as I attend a combined parish St. Francis Xavier (the churches name and what it has been called for 100+ years) St. Francis Xavier was one of the first missionaries to spread the word to different parts of the world. I have been praying for the Church to get busy with evangelization efforts throughout the first world, as our numbers are steadily dropping and I am witnessing many people leaving the Church because they do not understand their faith. We need good teaching, we need bible studies and weekly prayer meetings to learn our faith and worship with one another. I am hoping our new papa will indeed usher in a new evangelization, and the world will be saved, America will turn towards God and we shall enjoy peace rather than the fear that ravages the lower income populations. Are you happy to see this new pope? What about him do you like, and how do you think he can change the world?

Hi, If I am an Antichrist, then I would not be happy to have another representative rule over the Earth. But then I believe in God whose works cannot be made possible if we keep on raving and ranting how wretched this Earth is, why we brought is upon ourselves and Christ himself came over to show how to unravel this curse. The Pope is another person to remind us how to do it as Christ has shown us sometime ago. I do believe in God who made all means to manifest his care for all humanity before time runs out for when it does, there's no way we can undo the wretched things we are in now. Vival Il Papa, long live the Pope, wretched that I am, I shall try my very best to be a follower of his teachings in spite of the scandals of the leaders all around. I may add, being a pig among pigs does not add much to my humble humanity.

I have no interest in the Pope at all but I was watching the TV when the announcement came. I am shocked at how political the coverage was. Also I couldn't help noticing that there was an uneasy quietness among the commentators after the new Pope was revealed, as if they didn't approve. I hope they give the man a chance to do something without the rumor-mongering and snide remarks we have come to expect from the media.
