I hear so many people getting excited over tax season, they rush to do their taxes. For me, I could care a less, and take my time, seeing as I normally owe a few thousand. So far I owe $2,500 and thaat's half of my info plucked in. So normally double that and I owe them by the end of July.

My hubby and i also never get excited over tax season and take our time doing them as well. One yr he filed an extension and didn't get to them til October of that year. We usually owe as well. Even when we know we will get a refund we don't get too excited and don't file til April 15. One year we owed and my hubby said hold on to your seat as i was in the car with him and he said we owe so much and i was like omg and then he said we owe only $1 lol. he fooled me and joked with me because it really was so little we owed lol. Tho never in my life have i gotten excited over tax time and never have i really done them early.

SOme people get it and blow it so fast. I know my brother does that, he gets it and spends it within 24 hours. I know some who simple don't pay the government one guy owes $8,000 and still owes it. But then he is so irresponsible, and lazy. I would probably do the same, be all anxious to see what I owe, then seeing $1.00.

Surely your medical expenses should give you a decent deduction?

It get's money off, but doesn't cover everything. In the end it comes back to jobs, don't take all the taxes off, my one boss xplained it to me, they have to pay more, so instead they take less off and you deal with it all.

I get excited because I always get a refund, and it's nice sized too.. so that helps us catch up and have a little fun.

I would have a heart attack if the government actually give me money. They expect it paid within a few weeks after the deadline (I have to struggle every month to put money away to pay it). I actually know a girl on welfare who gets basicaally what I pay back, which I don't think she should get a dime, seeing as she sits at home watching tv all day, getting paid while her kids are old enough (they are almost my age), instead she gets even more money for free.

They're called tax credits. You should be getting them, too.

People get excited for it?? Geez, I just find it a bother. I always get a decent cheque but it takes a bit to arrive and it's not that substantial.

I know people who get so excited over it, it's ridiculous. To me it;s a hassle to get it all done and submitted, then they send me a bill saying you have two weeks to pay it or else you get r*ped with interest.

Lol pretty true for some. I'm a student though so I always get money back, just not that much as I don't work full time. It only comes to about $200ish for me so it's nothing fantastic, but I suppose that's better than having to pay...
