He isn't too happy about the defense being played on him at the time either. I'm not a Laker or Kobe Bryant fan but he does have a point. I watched the replays on youtube and the defender walks under his legs while he is in the air. I used to really hate that when I was playing. It's dirty plain and simple. When it was done to me in a game I would be angry with my opponent and angry with the referees for not protecting players. It's a foul and it's dangerous. I didn't much like the sprained ankles and twisted knees. Hope he heals quickly and the league starts looking at this kind of play a little more closely.

Let's hope he recovers quickly. He is a great player. Until he's back he will be missed by the sport not just his team.

I hate sports that often cause bruises or broken legs. I used to play football and since I broke my right finger I decided not to play it any more. Since then on I had focused more on volley ball. I found I liked it more than badminton or pingpong.

I can live with minor bruises. Basketball is a fast game and there is no padding. On the other hand there is no reason for dangerous play. If the NBA made it clear that undercutting an airborne opponent is unacceptable and then make the referees enforce the rules that are already there, there would be fewer injuries of this type. I enjoyed playing volleyball in the past. Haven't been on the court for that in a very long time. Not sure my play now would impress anyone.

That's the nature of the game nowadays. Whether we're talking basketball, football, hockey, even baseball, it's getting pretty obvious that players are trying to injure other players. The name of the game appears to be, crush, maim, disable, hurt or otherwise mutilate your opponent. That's what winning is all about in today's sports. The term, kill your opponents used to be figurative. Players and teams across the sports spectrum are trying to do that literally.

I agree with you on that. Let's wait and see if it happens. Sadly, it seems as though many fans are interested mainly in the violent aspect of sports.

Deliberate play meant to increase the risk of injury needs to be addressed by the league and they should take steps to stop it. It is in the sport's best interest. The people in charge have to figure that out.

he's still playing right now after that dirty move. making the playoffs is more important to him right now as they are close to grabbing the 8th spot.

Showing a lot of grit. I hope that he doesn't aggravate it. I'm not sure it is going to do the team a lot of good. They may make the playoffs but I don't think they are going very far this year.

Kobe should rest and out of the season. I know Lakers is still tough without Kobe. They are hanging around in 8th seed. Kobe, time to rest.

Actually, Kobe played against Washington Wizards with Pau Gssol and lost the game. Wizards is one of the lowly team and Lakers lost its opportunity.

Lakers are in trouble. Even if they hang onto that last playoff spot I doubt they are going to get very far in the playoffs.

That might be the better part of wisdom but I don't think that's the way it's going to happen. Kobe is already trying to play. Hopefully he doesn't aggravate it and make it worse. I badly sprained an ankle playing basketball and it was quite awhile before I was anywhere near back on my game. Took almost a week for me to walk normally.

I really hope he recovers fast as the Lakers are trying to have a postseason existense. I am Laker fan and at the same time a die hard kobe bryant fan. I watched the play, it was really a dangerous foul by Dahntay Jones. The NBA hasn't stricted in those rulings that a defender should give the shooter a room to land his feet to avoid any injuries. Dahntay Jones is just very insecure to Kobe, he already had a history in playing dirty defense against Kobe. He already did once when he was a member of the Nuggets against the Lakers in the 2009 West Finals. I'm glad that the NBA recognized it that they were wrong in ruling a no call. But I'm not glad at the same time knowing that Bryant could have shoot free throws then if the referee may have just called it a foul. The NBA really should watch and review closely if ever it happens again.

I'm kind of baffled as to why any league would allow this. We didn't do this in highschool or on the local basketball courts because you could get beat up after the game for it. I recall the referees calling that sort of play pretty quick back then. College was a different story though. I got on the bad side of the referees because I didn't play American style basketball and I got undercut all the time. Happened all the time while pulling down defensive rebounds. I almost quit because of it. Basketball's system of fouls is designed to protect players as much as anything else. Injuries are no fun. I wish they would do a better job of enforcing those type of calls.
