Diesel cars

while our sir taking class he told us about diesel cars..he told that in old technology such cars require heating the coil before it starts ...i found the new generation cars don't require heating .we just press the start button for starting the car...my doubt why the new generation car doesn't require heating??? whether there is any change in the combustion inside the engine...

Well over the years there has been many changes in the diesel cars, in fact diesel cars require a lot of maintainance in comparison to the petrol cars and as far as my knowledge goes, the combustion engine of the diesel cars have also undergone some changes over the years and if they r not started using a button they it would consume a lot of diesel and would affect its performance.
