I was at the same mall today..

I didn't even realize it till I got there. Hubby and I decided to go see a movie today, but we didn't want to go to the local theater.. it's a bit run down. We also didn't want to go to the major theater in the city because we detest that mall.. way too crowded with rude and inconsiderate people. I won't go to that mall anymore for anything. So we opted for another mall with a theater, though it's a bit further of a drive. We got there and realized that's the same mall where the woman was car-jacked and killed and her 10 year old daughter raped.. I shared the story here on Mylot the other day. We wondered if they had beefed up security because of the attack.. but it didn't seem as if they had. We left there at just about 9:30pm.. the woman and her daughter were attacked at 9. We saw no extra security. For a minute I was actually very scared.. but I was there with my husband, and no children, and nobody tried to attack us anyway.. but it was still a scary thought to think such a crime had taken place in the exact area I was in. Have you ever been to a place where a serious crime had been committed only days before?

I would have felt scared too but also very sad that this was the exact same place where the lady was killed and the child harmed beyong belief. I think that even as a gesture there should be extra security because it is obviously needed. Where was the security when this happened. No they can't be everywhere at once so this is why extra is needed. I don't tnink that I have been to a place where a crime had recently been committed but it may have happened without my knowing it

At the very least I think they could add more lighting to the parking lot.

I would have been scared as well, being in the crime scene at an almost similar time without added security. haven't been in the same situation but I remember staying up all night one night after a thief was able to scoop a phone from our window the previous night. I couldn't sleep well that time thinking I might encounter the thief.

Did he ever come back?

He didn't which was good because that probably shows that he wouldn't come back again and bad because I wanted to catch the culprit.

Wow that is kind of scary. I don't think I've been somewhere so soon after a crime had happened. The one convenience store has been robbed a good bit and I was there a few weeks afterwards but no one was hurt when that happened.

I missed that one, but I'm still catching up. There's a mall in Southern California that I used to go to a lot. A woman was killed there over somebody stealing her Christmas presents a lot of years back. Up here, Tony took my to a park near his parent's house that a girl had been killed at not long before. They're still trying to figure out who did it.

There is a mall just a few minutes drive from the house, well actually you could just walk going there from our house. There had been a burglary and also a bomb threat. But since it is the closest place to buy things, I just shrug off the thought about what has happened to the mall a few days before my visit. I mean, we can never really be sure we are safe all the time. And all we can do is pray that we may come home in whole.

Accident may happen anytime and in most unexpected places what we must do is to be extra careful wherever we are.
