The Birthplace of L. Frank Baum

Did you know that the creator of The Wizard Of Oz, L. Frank Baum was born only about an hour away from me in a small town called Chittenango, New York. The town is very proud to have this honor, and celebrate it every year with a festival of sorts. The whole town is basically dedicated to L. Frank Baum year round. Their sidewalks look like the yellow brick road, the stores are named after Oz characters, and many of them sell memorabilia from the movies and books. Since I've been getting interested in the land of Oz recently because of seeing the play Wicked in a few weeks (which is based off a totally different novel written by Gregory Macguire who got his inspiration from the Oz books written by L. Frank Baum) I may visit this town again, because I haven't done so in years! I think the kids would enjoy it! Do you live near anywhere that has a cool history such as being the birthplace of someone famous?

Oh awesome, I would love to go there... I live near the first site in California where gold was found. Lots of gold rush history here. Also a lot of sites that were visited by Mark Twain and other famous people.
