about 0% emi in axis bank

Recently i purchased sony camera for 12700 rs using 6 months free emi option using axis credit card in reliance degital ,i got a message credit card purchase for 6 month EMI. but in my credit card statement it is reflecting as full amount . i surprised and called bank customer care i got a reply like you need to pay full amount. now i am thinking what to do

There is a very similar complaint here: http://www.consumercomplaints.in/complaints/axis-bank-credit-card-emi-purchase-on-ebayin-c763847.html (This transaction was with eBay IN but the principle is the same). It looks as though some retailers are offering interest-free EMIs when, in fact, there has been no agreement with the bank. You should contact the bank to clarify this.

thank you for your reply, same thing happened to me i called axis customer care he said you need to pay full amount i am thinking to go to merchant and ask

This once happened to a friend of mine and he was very unhappy with this. The reason is quite obvious and when he brought the situation to the bank he was asked to pay the full amount. Well he did pay the full amount and after that he complained against the seller and that seller's account was removed. From next time check with the bank before purchasing from such sellers.

i sent a mail for merchant regarding this issue and got reply below as One of our customer amt EMI not converted of Rs: 12700/- Customer Name : Card No. **** **** **** Approval code : 089876 Amt : 12700/- Bank Card : Axis bank Swiped in : ICICI Date of purchase : 17.02.2013 Remarks : Axis bank card swiped in ICICI bank for SONY Camera offer for the month of Feb'13.

In store store manager made mistake he entered wrong transaction id during swipe
