Well, months back I started a discussion about one male member of the gym who makes a lot of noise while exercising. When he lifts weights, he would always release the sound "ooops, oooops, ooops.." and this prompted me to start discussion asking other members if they have heard or noticed people making such noise while exercising. This afternoon I was at the gym and there was another guy who was releasing a different sound. I had to look to see if it was the same guy but it was another member who was all the time giving the sound "aww...awww...awww..." or something like "arf...arf...arf" every time he lifts weights. He sounded like a dog barking. I couldn't help myself from secretly laughing because I knew that he would be my new source of discussion. I wonder why it's always the men who make a lot of noise when they lift weights. Women never do that.

Because there were fewer women who would lift weights? I am not sure but when I was still going into this gym, some guys would even cuss and say some silly stuff while lifting weights. Maybe it helps them ease off the strain in their arms when they do that. Just think of kung fu moves by martial artists while yelling "HIYAAAAAA"!!!

I could be cheeky and say it's usually only the men who are in the free weight section of the gym, it's true though we have a big section for free weights and I have yet to see a a woman there amongst all those men! Maybe it's daunting for them or maybe they cannot compete with the noises! I guess men like to show off and they think by making noises that it makes them look good, when in fact they are embarrassing themselves! I don't think I've ever made a noise when lifting weights, I don't use the free weight now, but when I was in my early thirties I did.

Perhaps the noises will make them lift those weights better?
