No Respect In The Workplace Anymore

John's had another stressful day at work, putting a job right that someone else chose to make a mess of ON PURPOSE so he's not asked to do it again. Ironically, John had been off Thursday and Friday of last week in order to go on a management course organised by the very company (H&H) that were giving him a hard time today because this particular job wasn't ready for lunch-time. He can't split himself in two can he? They're the most pathetic company I've ever come across and I hate everyone in it. The Big-Wigs that is. In effect, John has had to re-do the job from Thurs/Fri today. Every time he's off someone c*cks a job up (even people who KNOW what to do and have done the job for years) or decides they want to leave because they can't handle the pressure. I've always said it's a 'one man band' there and 'the job stops' whenever he's off. Today has just proved it. God, I wish he could win the lottery and tell them all to f*ck off lol.

I think is a very person with good performance and somebody there want to test his true capability on handling pressure, some can be interpreted as envy but not really I just hope John can handle the pressure.

I can see your reasoning but John told me this guy DOES know what he's doing. Apparently, he was moaning the whole time John was at the management courses last Thursday and Friday so others around him 'had a feeling' he wasn't doing the job properly. There really should be procedures in place to ensure workers don't 'slack' when John isn't there. I mean, what would happen if he ever had a 'proper' holiday, something he hasn't had for years, by the way.

I feel bad about John having to do those things. I sure hope that the people in that office would learn how to do their own jobs right and not be just depending on others to get it done for them.

Mum was upset when I told her what I'd told John as she knows he'll be worrying about it now. I said that (after the 6 months probation is up) he will probably be told to do his original job, Reeds will get some numpty from H&H for the simple reason that jobs don't get done properly when he's not there. I told Mum (and John) that this isn't a reflection on John's failure to manage, as he's trying his best under pressure..no, what I meant was, there is NO-ONE who is as dedicated and loyal as John that is prepared to go the extra mile to get something done in the quickest time. If there is no-one there like him what's the point of making him a manager?

It seems that John frequently clears up the mess .No sooner had he been off than somebody made trouble. What is wrong with the company? There are so many people who fool around at work there.Didn't the guy that made a mess of job get told off or punished ?

There are going to be 'discussions' about it, apparently. I told John discussions won't solve the problem. What they need to do is get the guy in an office so HE can explain why he did what he did..or didn't as the case may be..and why isn't there someone overseeing what people are doing when John isn't there? He can't split himself in two whilst on managerial courses.

Well, there's always something to make your day a living hell at work. If it's not the management, it will be someone you have to work with sometimes even your own staff who's got the gall to make trouble like it's nobody's business. But hey, if you win the lottery maybe you can hire me as an Assistant or something. Better yet, sprinkle me with some of your luck so I may also win the lottery here.

Seems John's getting it from all angles and having a load of crap dropped on him from a great height. You'd think with the current state of unemployment people would respect their jobs more and be grateful for them? But seems that makes little to no difference even in this economic crisis. And does he get paid well for all what he has to deal with, I expect not. If I had the numbers I'd share them with ya, but all I do is win 3 quid here and there LOL.

wow JNey it sounds like your husband has found the wrong company to work for and is being wasted there as all his efforts had to have been done over.I think its awful to work for employers who constantly find fault with everyone's efforts.I wish he could find a decent c ompany to work for who would treat him right as an emplouee.

It's since the takeover from H&H, a move I KNEW would create lots of problems for Reeds employees. If I could wave a magic wand he'd be working somewhere where he's valued, whether as a manager or otherwise. The problem with H&H is, they have fingers in too many pies. Basically, they don't know their a*se from their elbow lol.

I hear ya! I wish he didn't have to go through all that with his job. It must make him frustrated when he gets home. My SIL gets frustrated with his job at times.

He told me it's good that I'm here for him to talk to about work, which is nice actually because I am genuinely interested in what he does..even when he encounters problems. 'A problem shared is a problem halved' I think the saying goes.
