Casino night

Last Wednesday I ended up going with my best friend and another of her friends to check out a new casino in Cincinnati. I'd been wanting to go to the casino for a while and Angie had never been to one. This particular casino has only been open for a couple weeks now so it was a new experience to me all the way around. Well, I ended up taking my small casino gambling budget and going to the craps table. Within in about 30 minutes I had taken my $40 to $100 and I was quite satisfied with myself. I knew that if I stopped then I would walk out of the casino ahead and that is always a good thing. My friends, on the other hand, didn't play quite so smartly. Angie borrowed money off of me and Moe and ended up losing everything except for $15 (she was given over $200 between the two of us). Moe was ahead by several hundred dollars at one point and kept playing until he had less than he started with. So my friends, when you go to visit a casino do you quit while you are ahead or do you play until you've had your fill? Have you ever had a night when you've hit it big? How often do you like to visit casinos?

I know that there are people that will lose thousands of dollars in a single night and that thought is something that makes me sick. I really always wonder where people are able to get that kind of money.

In a month? That's crazy gambling and reckless. If I had $1000 or close to that even, I wouldn't be going to a casino that is for sure. Maybe if I had $100 to $200 but I would be careful not to gamble it all away either.

I knew a lady in vegas, she lost her car and house in a month there. Very sad. :(

Since I live in las Vegas casinos are a almost daily thing for people here. I not so much visit the casinos anymore but I do go to the local bar down the street were there is gambling also. Every weekend I take $50 win or loose. Between me and my honey we usually walk out with something but there has been times when we loose too. I'm just happy to have a good time and not loose every dime I had

I think that it would be cool to live closer to the casinos, but then again I think that it might be a bad thing as well. It would be a lot of fun if I would be able to stay as disciplined as I am now.

Hi dorannmwin, my husband likes to have fun in the local casino. We will visit if we can get hotel accommodation with budget price. That is to deduct awarded points from our member card We usually would stay a couple of nights there. We usually would visit the casino twice in a year during our holidays I don't place any bet even it's interesting. I know it's difficult to win. I just accompany him betting at the roulette table. He will leave the table after making a few hundreds. The money gained would go back to the casino if reluctance to leave. Happy posting

The casino we have visited is located in hill area. Other than several casinos lots of outlets, restaurants, stalls, cinema, theaters and amusement park with many attractive outdoor and indoor games are available as well. On account of this entertainment city high on the mountain, the weather there is comfortable cool and fresh. Really fortunate that we can spend our happy moment there twice yearly. I did make a little reward betting with the color chips my hubby gave me after he had won I believe you would have chance to spend a sweet night or two in the casino hotel in the coming future. It's great to have different experience in life. it would be another interesting topic here if your dream has come true

I've never had the opportunity to spend the night at one of the hotels that is attached to the casino, but that is something that I would like to have the opportunity to do at some point during my life. Regardless, it really isn't that far of a drive for us and I really did have a wonderful time.

I've had a few good nights, meaning $400 - $500 won. But probably way more lost. year before last the ex asked the casino for a printout. His losses could have paid off our credit cards. I'm sure mine were in the same ballpark. I rarely go back there now.

Oh, something like that would be really scary to see. I know that in all the times that I've been in a casino I've not lost enough that would even pay off my smallest credit card.

When you think of something like that I would not want to spend much time in a casino at all. All that time and money wasted when you could have done some good with it, that's a scary thought.

Hi dorannmwin. Congrats for your win. Actually I have been in Casino only for a few times. At the beginning I won an interesting amount, but then I kept playing and I lost all what I won, but luckily no more. I think that someone should go there only to have a while of fun and spend the money you have as surplus. It is know that many people become game addict and that is wrong. I'd like to send you this quote from Dostoyewsky that I found in the web: "And I believed in my system ... within a quarter of an hour I won 600 francs. This whetted my appetite. Suddenly I started to lose, couldn't control myself and lost everything. After that I ... took my last money, and went to play ... I was carried away by this unusual good fortune and I risked all 35 napoleons and lost them all. I had 6 napoleons d'or left to pay the landlady and for the journey. In Geneva I pawned my watch." This famous writer has been a gambler himself and wrote a book about gambling.

I agree that the vast majority of people do end up losing. I like to liken it to auctions where you end up spending more to purchase an item than you'd intended because of the excitement of the moment.

I think that before this, the last time that I was at the casino was when my sister turned 21. That has been over five years ago, I didn't win that last time that I was there but I really didn't lose all that much either.

I haven't been to a casino for a long time. I am not lucky. I figure if they just came running out and put a vacumn hose in my purse and just sucked the money out we would all be ahead because I wouldn't have to find a parking place and walk up to the building...and it ends up the same most of the time. Many years ago I did hit a jackpot. I had went with my dad. I had three little kids at the time and the extra money was so awesome! I hit $200.00.....before my grandson went to basic training he came for a visit. In Arizona they have to be 21 but here in Minnesota only 18......my son took him for his first time at a casino and I gave him $20.00 to spend. They were walking out of the casino when Mark put a dollar into a dollar machine....all of sudden the bells and whistles went off...he was so nervous. My son called me and I didn't believe he won as my son likes to pull jokes on everyone....within an hour though Mark had a photo posted to his facebook page with him and his winnings.....he was one happy guy!

In our country we don't have casinos as its illegal to gamble. But lets consider that we had a casino and if I was there winning, then as soon as I see that I am starting to loose money I would stop and leave. Normally what happens we get excited and forget to think rationally and loose more than what we started with. If your are really lucky then this doesn't apply to you.

I'm not much into casinos. I feel I worked to hard to throw my money away. However, I have been to Atlantic City and the casino in Paradise Island in the Bahamas. I usually play like you. Once I'm ahead I walk away. I don't want them to make off of me. I want to make the money off of them. When you start playing like your friends you usually end up losing big time. I'm so happy you played smart and walked away with more then you came in with. That is a good gambler in my opinion.

I only visit casinos when I`m on a vacation in another country. I am the addicted kind of person so I have to fight against my several addictions. I never buy chocolate. And I never visit a casino unless I`m on vacation. Still, I leave my credit card at home and only take with me the money that I can lose without pain. A have won a good amount of money (considering the small amount I play) about 3 times in my life. Most of the times I gain or lose a bit. And a couple of times I have lost more than I should have as I have discovered some more money inside my purse.

I would be tempted at a casino if I took my credit card. So, knowing myself, I just leave it at the hotel. I congratulate you! Did you win?

I actually did take my purse into the casino this time, but I didn't touch anything other than the cash that I had gotten out of the ATM with the intent of playing with at the casino. I was very proud of myself for not giving into temptation. Usually, I will just take in my ID and my cash so that I have no way to have any other temptations.

I am way too cheap to hit the casinos - hee hee. I will say I've liked walking through casinos . . . something exciting about the air of it all . . . but me as a player - nah - I know I'd end up losing. The times we've gone to Vegas, I'd play nickel keno - and that was plenty exciting for me. I think I won some chump change after using up some chump change on it . . . but that's as far as I'll go. I may have done some slots, but that didn't do much for me. I just don't know how people get caught up with gambling . . . I guess I don't like to take chances when it comes to money . . . I'd rather blow the money on a fantastic dinner. So I guess, I'm ahead when I go to casinos - I treat it more or less as if I'm at Chuck E Cheese playing some token games - ha ha. Which means I'll never hit it big either.

I live in Las Vegas and yet I hardly ever go to the Casinos. The only time I go to the casino is when people come out to visit me or if there is a concert that I want to see (like this Friday I am going to see Kenny Rogers). On Saturday I went to a casino because if you swiped your card you could win a prize. I won three dollars in free play and last week I won a free dinner (of course I used that already). There is one local casino that has free ice cream on Saturday nights so I go there just to get the ice cream. I do set a budget when I do gamble and I do quit when I am ahead. I only play penny games because you can play more without having to spend a lot. The most I have own was $25.00.

The penny slots was what my friends were mostly playing. One of them had taken $20 up to $100 and finally quit when it was at $50. My other friend took $20 to $70 and then played until her till was down to $15.

Some people don't realize the word ' gambling ' I have come to think. I know you can win big but I wouldn't use up other people's money nor if I were ahead, try to keep going. Like you I would have stopped while ahead and taken what I can get. Good for you that you know when to stop. That way you didn't end up in the hole with your friends.

I wouldn't let myself end up in the hole the same way that they'd done. I know my limits and if I get ahead a little bit, that is good enough for me. I was able to have a good time and I was able to enjoy a little bit of time alone.

I think your friend better not visit the casino on board the cruise ship. Since a cruise typically takes a few days, he will lose a lot of money. The cruise ship allows him to charge to credit card as well.

Whenever I walk into casino, which isn't often, I always only have a $20 gambling budget. With the penny slots, I'm always able to stretch it out for however long as I want to stay in the casino. But if I do win something significant (I call winning $60 significant), I always quit right away. My thought is that if it can buy me a good meal, then it's enough to stop playing.

Casino night: dorannmwin: nice to see you in mylot after a lot of days. I was not active due to teaching work I had. Casinos -- gambling is a bad thing. one is tempted to spend more and more. So it is advisable to set a limit of $50 or so and stop after losing it. I use to play for $10 only whenever I visited such playhouses wherein gambling is there. You are wise and stopped after crossing the limit or after earning a small amount. good day.
