Should I grab this job or not?

I just saw a hiring over the internet.abut massage therapist they need 100 employee for this job. it was posted just last week of January so now it's march and they are still hiring. the other job like attendant, receptionist concierge, office clerk ,stock attendant are already filled. and I am curious why this massage therapist is hard to filled and they are still hiring till now.I told my neighbor that there is a hiring and she pass her resume online.interviewed the past day and then she started her training the other day.I just waited her that night to know everything about her firs training. She said they are only 3 who are in training.they need more for many go for training then will not comeback. the training will be 3 months. 80pesos or equivalent to almost $2 dollar a day but you will fund a 15 days (so 15 days of 80 pesos you will only receive when you live the job) then after 3 months from 8 hours work you will be scheduled for 12 hours on the spa. I asked her why don't they give minimum wage or salary? she said because we will only get money from the customer if they want to have a spa that cost about $5 dollars we will have about 15% of that and that will be your payment so it is like also a salary. and you will received it every two weeks. also if you received a tip that is a plus. massage therapist will be line up its a rotation let's say your 60 on the line up you will wait a customer till it reach to 60 . unless they have requested you. after 3 months too you will be required to get a license in your expense.and after that is 6months probationary period and regularization means 2 years contract working with them. and that is all. no any other benefit. They will also have feedback box for the customer who will complain or not. Now I am quite upset with what I heard because I thought it is like your working everyday and will surely expect that you will get salary plus overtime and also benefits like payment of sss from the company beside from the contribution of the employee.but it's not so meaning when you go to your job. you don't know how much you will earn from that day. I was wondering how about when there is a typhoon and typhoon here took a week and rainy season is almost a month. so that mean there are days that I might possibly don't get earnings. and $2 is only my transportation allowance and will stay there for 12 hours actually 8 hours is the regular hours in our law. but since it is a commission based so it is not like a normal job. Now my lotters I need your advice if I shall go with her to train here. I need to have money to work for almost a month since I will not get my allowance for 15 days then the other 15days I will get my transportation allowance after a month.it's hard to find job here and they don't required age limit. and even no experience. i Wanted to have a stable job and i find it not stable one . what shall I do.

It sound more like a rip-off than a regular job hiring. Obviously it is not a legitimate job offer by paying only $2 a day, and with nobody want to apply for. I will not advice you to grab this job, on the contrary, you should avoid it by all means necessary unless you want to be taken for a ride and possibly ask to give additional services and extra personal effort to your customers(you know what i means on this) before you can be paid with min. wage as a massage therapist. It seem like the recruiter and this company is out to take everyone as sucker and prey on the vulnerable and long term unemployed to use for some quick bucks around the clock and his rip-off scheme. To be a licensed massage therapist, you are entitled to at least min. wage even during training period, anything short of that is amounted to employment rip-off. From whatever you described, it is no doubt this company has its own set of labor law and regulation, have difficult and long process to go before you can even get pay for what you are worth and working for. Look like you are trying to get yourself into a crappy job now.

So this rip-off 'high priest' company must be expecting all the trainees to eat grass and sand at the same time drink rain water during the training period with $2 a day wages. I really don't see which part of this job offer is attractive at all, let alone treating the job applicants and trainees as suckers. Many back out after one day is just a red flag for you to see.

thanks for precise answer .I am now enlightened perhaps that is the reason why many who trains for one day back out and they find it hard to fill the slot of the needed therapist in their spa.

In my opinion, having a stable job also means getting the required benefits provided by the government. If you're unsure of whether to apply or not, then just don't and look for other jobs. Sometimes, you need to follow your instincts. There's a reason why some people go in the training then later on quit.

I found many disagree with me going to this job and now I know the reason why should I not go to this job. thank you very much for your explanation.I should look for another one and will not think of grabbing the job in their company anymore.

From what i understand, no job is stable unless you are working for the Government. So, if you want to try in a private sector start low and work your way up to the top. That is how it works, well at-least in my country that is how it works. So stop thinking take the job keep doing it, till you find a better opportunity. :]

Hi gara! You can have a try while you are still in search for a job that you like. Who knows you might learn to love this job. Personally, this is not my line of job so I would not probably go with that kind of job. I would rather stay online and find my luck here. Have a great day!

Looks like a lot of trouble to me for something that isn't even a regular job with benefits. If this is what you really want to do, you better have some money allotted to finance the requirements yourself. And still there is not guarantee or security of tenure, even the "salary" can be without since it all depends on the customers. I think you should try to search something else. This is only good if you have nothing else going on and you have lots of money saved up.

thank you very much for your advice.. i should think about it. Right now I am looking for a job online I only see agencies that allow people on my age up to 35 ( so I am included since I am 30+)but it's janitors or housekeeping. but if they do give minimum pay then it's ok in factory that i worked they require at least 2nd year college level. so now even I studied college I have no hindrance in applying for a job not related to my education. for it's really hard to find a job here especialy that number of unemployed college graduate are rising.

This job is only paying $2, that is not salary, but if you really need a job and need money, and if that is all you can find, right now than take the job but me personally I wouldn't want a job like that, it's like you are still unemployed working a job like that.
