This smoothie is gross

I made a smoothie tonight to use up the yogurt, strawberries and bananas. I cut up 1 banana, cut up a few strawberries, pour a little yogurt, and milk. I;m not sure if I add too much milk. It's very runny, and taste less. I will drink it seeing as it was so much to make it, and the cost of things. I have enough yogurt for 1 more smoothie, and a few containers of strawberries.

Did you add ice as well? Maybe that's why it's a bit runny too. Whenever we have a bunch of fruit in the fridge my dad will make some smoothies with whatever we have. Instead of doing milk he'll use orange juice or another type of juice instead, but he still uses the yogurt too. Keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it!

I make great smoothies but I use frozen strawberries. I also add sweetener, because its just not sweet enough for my taste. Mine are thick like soft custard ice cream. I hate runny. Frozen strawberries are best because they also freeze the milk like ice cream. I use yogurt sometimes too. It's great. I would hate it runny. I like to out the milk and yogurt in the blender and start the blender. Then I add the frozen strawberries a few at a time until it gets thick. You have to shake it a bit when it gets thick. I hold it tight and gently pat the glass to help the rotation. I don't add more milk because I like it like a thick milkshake.

Maybe you could dump some vanilla ice cream in it and reblend it? It won't make it healthier, but maybe more edible for you? It'll be more "shake" like!

That would make it tasty. French vanilla would be stronger too, I love french vanilla ice cream.

I wanted a milkshake but didn't have the ice cream. I was thinking of buying some when I go grocery shopping.

It does sound like too much milk as it just diluted the taste of the fruit too much. Now you know for next time you attempt a smoothie.

I do, I will just put a little then mix it, if it needs more milk I can add it.

I also tried to make smoothies a couple of times, and there are hits as well as misses. If I did not get the desired result, I would just put some crushed ice on it and make it at least a bit more pleasant to drink.

Not sure about the taste but it is certainly healthy and you should definitely make more of those and have it.

hi ricki actually that combo of strawberries and banana and yogurt sounds good buj t if you make it too thin it will really be sort of blah.Next time start with just so much yogurt and milk so its thick then it should taste good I would think.

I think I just add too much milk to it.

Next time, drop a teaspoon of vanilla extract in it and I'd add a couple of tablespoons of sugar in it as well. You don't need much milk if you're using yogurt. And don't blend it too long or the yogurt gets too runny.

I have to admit that the combination that you've given here sounds like something that would be fairly tasty. However you did one thing in your smoothie that I never do in mine. I never add milk to my smoothies, instead I tend to do some juice and I always make sure that my fruit is frozen before I make my smoothie because that way it turns out to be a lot less runny than it would have been otherwise. Some people say to put ice in them, but that has never been appealing to me at all.

I have never tried to make smoothie, I want to make one I watch my niece make smoothies, she make her with frozen fruit, and soy milk it looks good when she make it, I will look on the internet, and see how to make one, and give it a try, I will have to buy me another blender, because the one I had broke, I think I will spend a lot more money, for the next one I buy.
