Got interest in the movie "Enemy at the Gates"

Of late, I have been reading quite a lot about wars- The two World Wars and various battles in it. I came across some material from which I came to know that the movie "Enemy at the Gates" was about a part of the Battle of Stalingrad- one of the bloodiest and important battles of the World War II.
This movie has been shown on Star Movies and perhaps the HBO a number of times, but I was not interested then.
Now, I want to see it. Have you seen this movie?

I haven't seen the movie but it was about one of the worst mistakes Hitler made in fighting the war. He attacked Russia when winter was approaching. That also opened a two front war that Germany could not win. Up until then, the Soviet Union was an ally of Germany and Germany's main battles were in North Africa and trying to decide whether to invade England. Not capturing England allowed the allies to build up armies and attack the Germans in France.

You too seem like a keen history enthusiast. I too have been reading a lot about World War II battles recently. Yes, Hitler did make a mistake of not planning enough for the harsh Russian winters and that was a major cause of German forces defeat, inspite of a rapid advancement towards Moscow, Leningrad, Ukraine and Stalingrad.

yes...pretty good movie about Sniper fight..
Ed harris and jude law.. on the quest to be the sharpest sniper in WW2...
nice movie.. still can be watch today..still looks good..
8/10 when it first came out..Vaseily..!

It has been on air for quite a long time. Yet, only when I read that this is related to WWII Battle of Stalingrad that I got more interest in it.

It a very good movie.Yes it is based on famous battle of Stalingrad but it focuses on story of a young soldier and his life .Its more like a commercial entertainer though,not a classic movie like Saving Private Ryan or Schindler list.

Well, they got a theme out of that battle, and focused on some individuals to make it more of an entertainer.

that is a good movie to watch for sure and the movie is full of surprise and it is quite till the end
