Restriction on the use of mylot search bar

Since I started doing internet activities, I searched almost everything I want to know online. Almost 80% of my computer activities are spent on online searching for things to buy, search for or compare market prices for goods or services, find out the how, where and when of events and activities and a lot more information that I may need or interested to including sites that I visit everyday. That is, I get ideas on almost anything from the internet and formerly I've been doing this through google. But when I learned that we could earn by using the mylot search function I began using this as alternate to google. My concern is, since I started continuously using the mylot search instead of google I had already received two warnings re abuse of its use. I am not aware of the restrictions in the use of mylot search as I can’t find this in the guidelines. Friends kindly share some information to enlighten me on this aspect as I don’t want to violate rules that I am not aware of.

The instructions on the proper use of the Search facility are here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq24.aspx The "normal, natural way" of using any Search facility means that you are expected to visit at least one or two of the links presented. MyLot don't (of course) reveal exactly how they check for abuse but if you make repeated searches too quickly or using the same words, you are likely to trigger the alerts and your Search history will be flagged for inspection. If it is considered that you are abusing the system, then MyLot may terminate your account. You should not be in any danger if you are using the Search facility for its proper purpose.

Thanks a lot for the link Owlwings. It provided a guideline on how I should use this next time. I cannot be online most of the day due to other tasks that I need to attend to hence, when I do my search I tend to maximize the time at hand so I think this was the main cause why I earned that notice.

Well they say that we must use the mylot search naturally as we would use other search engines. Now, how this 'natural' is defined, I don't know!! But I've not got any warnings till now..On many occasions I did a lot of search on mylot throughout the day to complete my school assignments. Maybe you used it a lot more which it can't see as natural searching, and maybe u repeatedly searched for the same thing? I don't know exactly how it works though :(

The first time I got is when I was searching for a house and lot for sale to help a friend who is looking for a cheaper and affordable one that could be acquired also through government employee home lending programs and I had been doing it the whole day plus my other personal searches which I am doing at the same time. Maybe we need to use this with intervals and not throughout the whole the day.

I think there is no restriction, but you must be careful when using myLot search. It is because its difficult to define myLot search of what they're thinking about the user... ha ha Some people who use myLot search will receive a warning even though for them is they do search in a normal way. Hmmmm... maybe the only restriction I know is when the reward pops up in your screen monitor, well, you log out first and do the search in the next day. That is what I know so that myLot search would not become suspicious on you.

I do not know but, that is what I observed when I tried myLot search but, it is just my observation and I am not sure if it is true.

Does it mean that when you receive a reward notice, you should stop using this and should shift to utilizing other search engine in your search activities? If this is one restriction, I still am at a loss why.

I have received warning from using Mylot search bar once but i see to it that i will never be warned again i am so afraid that i will be banned. I have noticed that if you used it as rigid as the way we are using goggle then software will say we are abusing it , though we are not really , not in our intention that we will be searching many . So i change the way to use Mylot search , i used it one at a time . One topic per hour , though i need the information i will wait for some hours , to feel so safe.

Umm... Angelpink, if you need the information, you don't have to wait for hours just to use myLot/Yahoo search. There are alternatives. Just a thought.
