First of all, the story is reporting a hearing at the US House of Representatives Science Committee which was clearly convened to inform the Committee about the recent close approach of a large asteroid and a completely unrelated meteor event in Russia. The headline is "Asteroid heading to Earth? Pray, says Nasa" which does NOT mean that there IS an asteroid heading for Earth - there is a question mark after the statement! What Charles Bolden ACTUALLY said was: "From the information we have, we don't know of an asteroid that will threaten the population of the United States, but if it's coming in three weeks, pray." ... meaning that if we only have three weeks warning, there is nothing that anyone would be able to do (except pray). This kind of headline is fairly common in the English speaking world and nobody would take it to be a literal fact. It might be said that it was irresponsible of IBNLive to publish the headline to an audience who are not familiar with English media headlines and syntax.
