Which one is the best island in Hawaii?

Me and my husband, we were thinking to go on a vacation and ended up with Hawaii. We both agreed on a trip to Hawaii but couldn't make our mind on a particular island. I want to visit either Kaui or Maui but my husband is more interested in Bid Island. We want this vacation to be a romantic gateway but big Island is more fun for hiking and not a big fan of live volcano.
And it seems impossible to cover all the islands in a single trip. One of our friend went to Hawaii and visited all the four island in a week. They said although they covered all the island but couldn't enjoy a single one.
How about you friends? Have you ever been to Hawaii? Which one is your favourite and which is the best place to visit?

I loved Hawaii..it was like a different world. I have visited all 4 Islands a couple of times. The Islands aren't so big, so you can rent a car and drive any of them in one day.
I would say Kaui amd Maui are the most romantic..esp Kaui..which is actually my fav. Oahu is great to get a tourist feel..lots of little shops..but for me Kaui (the garden Island) is the most beatuful. Depending on how long you are there I think visiting both the big Ialand of Hawaii and Kaui is feasible.

We were thinking of spending at least 7 days in Hawaii. I read reviews about Kaui and that's my first choice.
