I think the smartphone refers to the mobile phone which can work like a computer. Today the smartphone has some different operating system, such as IOS, Android, Windows etc. And therefore you can see Android is one kind of the smartphones. I like it because you can find many free apps and games from it.

Android is a system running on smart phones. There are many smart phones running on different system, the most popular is Android and iiOS (for iphone). Most phones are running on Android as iOS is exclusive for apple products.
