I know that series in SA is far but if India has to do well there they should have a pool of good fast bowlers to choose from.India is the only Asian team to win series in Eng and WI and drawn series in Australia that is in last decade. That happened because India not only had excellent batting but bowlers good enough to take 20 wickets.Right now Zak is injured, Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron are injured too,Sreesanth didnt look match fit in Irani Trophy. So is it time to give chance to new fast bowlers like Pandey, Pradeep Sharma, Kaul, Imtiaz Ahmed,Ankit Rajpoot and others. We have seen that Bhuveneshwar and Shami did well when they got the chance. If Zak and Umesh Yadav dont get fit before SA series then India might be in trouble big time.

My friend if India has to do good in SAfrica they need batsmen who can play on bouncy tracks at least.
They have lost 0-8 in abroad and only Kohli and Dhoni have abilities.
Sachin was different but now he runs out of his prime time.He will retire after the tour of SAfrica.Bowling SAfrica has a better one than India.
You think Dhawan will be a star in SAfrica, well the way he played he is bound to give catch at the slip or gully on a bouncy track.
Pujara i think he can perform.Vijay i have doubts. And spin no i do not think Aswin and Jadeja is not near to Harbhajan when he was at his peak form. They need assistance from tracks otherwise they cannot turn the ball, Jadeja can scorev 40s on bouncy tracks.

At least two good fast bowlers, who might not be express fast yet skillful like Javagal Srinath, Kapil Dev etc used to be. Seam and Swing would be the main skills. Praveen Kumar did look promising but injury has bogged him down in recent years. Let us see how he performs going forward.

You are right, India needs specialist batsman and bowlers if they need to do well in SA, bits and pieces kind of players might be useful in India but on testing pitches India will struggle to catch up.We saw what Anderson did to India in recent test series, then India struggled against likes of Irfan and Junaid in ODI series.Only way of putting pressure on SA is by getting in talented fast bowlers. When India toured SA last time they won the match in Durban on a bowler friendly track.Laxman played gem of an innings there and bowlers did well too.I agree that Pujara has the technique to do well there , many be Kohli too.Apart from these two Indian batting line up look very weak on those bouncy tracks. Thanks a lot for your response.

The series in SA is not just far but
it is too far as most extrabegenja the ipl which is hype in cricket in India.
to ur question though sa serise too far yes a set of fast bowler who can act bowl well in the fast green pitch. Spinner not can not do well in those pitches in sa where aswin and jadeja will not take 20 wkts. All wkt should be taken by faster and as u said zaheer Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron
are injured as well Sreesanth. yes new fast bowlers like
Pandey, Pradeep Sharma, Kaul, Imtiaz Ahmed,Ankit Rajpoot and others u mentioned should be given chance and praise continusly. Bhuveneshwar kumar is good new comer who is right shape while ishant sharma is also well bowling.
i am more worry about the batting which failed in overseas so it is under more observatiön. pujara and dhawan shown good character and vijay too good but will they reapeat performance there? Also we need more strong middle order which failing nowand then.

Yes i agree that batting is a big concern. Its just that if your bowling is good in foreign conditions you can at-least compete, otherwise there will be another whitewash for India overseas. If you have solid batsman they can make big scores and lead team to safety but to win test matches bowlers have to take wickets.Right now Indian pace attack looks really weak given that so many bowlers are injured. Thanks a lot for your response.

Yes, India needs to concentrate on their fast bowling department. Umesh Yadav needs to be groomed once he is back. Others too need to be motivated and play well enough. South African wickets do not help spinners much, so R.Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja can expect some tough moments. I am not sure if Zaheer Khan can touch peak form again. Let us see how pacers perform in IPL and a few ODI series after that.

Yes Zaheer is not getting younger and thus there are serious concerns about his fitness.Ishant has been very poor overseas so its very important that Umesh and Sreesanth gets fit before SA series.Praveen Kumar,Bhuvneshawar Kumar and Shami Ahmed are good swing bowlers so they can be considered.I read that Chennai Super Kings have hired talented UP bowlers like Imtiaz Ahmed and Ankit Rajpoot then we have Siddarth Kaul and U19 star bowler Pradeep Sharma too. There are no test matches now before SA series so you are right that these young pace bowlers should be tried and tested in IPL and upcoming ODI series. Thanks a lot for your response

The Champions trophy in England would also be a good testing ground for many pacers. Let us see how well Dhoni & Co. can plan for that tournament, and beyond. And much depends on how Duncan Fletcher handles the things.
