One of the activities during this Holy Week is the Reading of the Passion of Christ or we call it in our local dialect as "Pabasa". People who are participating in this activity would usually take turns in chanting the verses in the Book Pasyon (Passion). It would usually take for a day or several days which starts on Holy Monday or any day during the Holy Week. When I was younger, I would accompany my grandmother when she visit other neighbors to participate in this activity. However, this time, seldom that I see this kind of activity in our place. I personally do not know how to sing the pabasa but I enjoy watching them while they are singing. How about you my dear friends, were you able to witness this activity in your place? Have a wonderful day everyone!

We used to do it when I was a kid. My mom would often bring me to my aunts house and they would read it inside the house while my uncles would drink outside a little before the reading ends. All of us kids would then play outside. I remember, we were making too much noise that our aunt would always scold at us and tell us to go inside because we're disturbing the read.

Those were the days. But nowadays, I seldom hear this kind of activity in our neighborhood. People are so busy with other things. Thank you for sharing!
