I need ideas to earn money from home. This discussion is for people like myself who are home makers whether stay at home moms or stay at home dads or just college students or just a person who needs extra income. I myself am a stay at home mother and I am interested in survey websites that pay money or points redeemable for gift cards, I am interested in sites like my lot that pays you for your opinions and I am interested in free samples and such. Im excited to hear ideas that work for other poeple. and I will share any that I find that work well for me.

Most online moneymaking ideas are really solitary activities (i.e., you do it alone). I think the promise of huge earnings online is about doing things together with other people. I'm referring to just social networking. It has to be similar to real world business relationships where you have trading partners. To apply this principle here in myLot, two members can enter an agreement to comment on each other's post and to start discussions meeting the other person's interest. Such bilateral agreement can help expedite the posting process so the result is more posts per unit time.

Oops. I missed a word. It should be, "I'm NOT referring to just social networking."

I see, I try to comment to everyone who comments to me, so that it helps us all out and if I see a post which really interests me, I post a comment, no matter the length so that it helps all involved as well. I hope that the more stuff that I comment on, the more money that I earn and the more knowledgeable that I am. I also hope that my comments help everyone if the people are helping me.

I have read once that a member of clixsense earned a thousand dollars in 1 or 2 months by doing surveys alone. I haven't really tried it since there are not much surveys available for our country. But if you live in USA then there should be a lot of companies that needs your opinions.

Yes, I have joined several companies that have survey opportunities. So far, I've not gotten any payouts, but I have earned a few dollars here and there.

For the past eight years I am a homemaker too. However, I have some small business which I do when my clients request for some products that I can supply. In 2009, I started to blog and monetize with Nuffnang Asia and at least have some extra pocket money. Yesterday I started with some surveys that can earn points. However all these sites that I monetize with are within the Asia region. Good to know that you have different sources of online income. Do look out for contests too. They are one of my major contributor to my shopping vouchers and overseas holiday trips. Praise the Lord!

I have thought about contest and sweepstake sites, just not sure the odds of winning and dont want to contribute time that I could be contributing to something actually prove to pay out instead of on a chance to win

Well I would go for blogging, for it have the ability to provide a stable income over a period of time or even give you the opportunity to build a full scale online business that could provide you with income even when you are asleep. If you have the ability to write and learn a few skills like keyword research and link-building there is no reason to fail. I had build quite a few blogs within the last 2 years, and they allow me to stay at home and live comfortably. Blogs enable you to do a lot of things in order to make money, you can add an affiliate link or your own product and only drive traffic to one location. For those with a budget...there are some blogging platforms that will allow you to build your blog without paying a cent. This method does not take up that much time for you will only be required to blog about 2 - 3 times a week.

Yeah, I agree I have tried blogging in the past and never could get successful at it. I do like to give my opinions, but I guess when it comes to actual interests and such, I just cant really grab people's attention like I would hope to do.

Hi hollylockhart! Welcome to myLot! I am working online on a part time and although I may not be able to recommend sites on surveys because I am not successful on that one but I can say that writing can be the best way if you are aiming for online success. Among the sites that I could recommend are Expertscolumn, wikinut and shvoong. I can hear other member mentioning about microworkers, although this site give most benefits to members from US. that is also true with other survey sites. So if you are from that country, I guess you can try this site.
