Cellphone should be Turned on

Philippines

Just recently, I went to the mall to buy some printer cartridge without knowing its cartridge number. Then I resolve to contacting my sister who knows it. I already texted her, tried calling her and even giving her some cellphone load. Unfortunately, her phone was turned off. With that experience, I guess cellphones should be really turned on as much as possible. What do you think?

Of course, but i think that your sister must have not noticed that she has already lost the phone's battery? maybe she forgot so the phone was turned off. =) oh well... i agree that during times when we know someone must contact us, we must keep the phone turned on as much as possible because we will never know. once a week though, i would keep my phone turned OFF when I am sleeping...

My sister just told me that her phone was always turned off. It was like pissing me hell. But I just remained silent and let the anger pass.

My family used to keep our cellphone "on" twenty fours as we only operated on cellphone. Without it we are not able to contact one another especially in the case of emergency. However, we do screen through some unwanted calls by recognizing from the unfamiliar numbers. We do saved all those numbers whom we know in our cellphones.

I agree it should be turned on most of the time! Or at least get a decent phone that has a lasting battery life. My mom always has this problem with her old model Nokia phone. The battery drains really quickly when someone calls to the point that it shuts off.

Yes, but we cannot expect anything. There is a saying : expect the unexpected. Some people who switch off their mobile phone or their mobile phone had been turn off is because there are many variety of reasons like a mobile phone might have low battery charge that is why its difficult to contact them.

Well, I have a cell phone for my convenience, not for someone else's... I should have my phone turned on so other people can call me for their convenience? So they can ask me for things & ask me questions? It sounds wrong to me... If I don't wanna be bothered, I usually turn my phone to vibrate & up it aside... If I miss calls or text messages, I will get back to them at my convenience, not theirs... It sounds like you should've been better prepared... If you were getting it for your sister, as in doing her a favor of buying one for her, then yeah, I can understand... But from what it sounds like, you're saying she should've had her cell phone turned on because you didn't bother to look up the cartridge number so she should do it for you?

On the first place why does she turned it off. A cell phone is supposed to give us availability anytime and anywhere to be reached for a text or a conversation. See, how it affected you? I am sure you will scold her when you arrive in the house.

I know exactly how you feel. My mom has a bad habit of not hearing the phone. Especially when I have something important to say. The funny thing is that her phone is on, but she ignores it or does not hear it although she has no hearing issues. It is exasperating to have a problem and to call with no answer.

Yes. Cellphones should be turned on. It will be very irritating if any one doesn't respond to our calls. Personally I don't like to switch off my cell. What happens we don't know. If any urgent calls come and if we dont respond that would cost a lot

I think that if you have a cell-phone, you should turn it on, unless you go to an event like a theatre play or cinema or so, but to the most important people I know I tell this in advance. I hate it when it's an urgent situation, I call my parents or boyfriend, and they don't pick the phone up.

Yes I agree. Cellphone was created for quick communication. And so having this would mean that people who know your digits can contact you anytime whether through text or call. They can easily tell you important matters that has major impact in your life. So it is not good to turn off your cellphone. During class, I just keep my cellphone on a silent mode yet with vibration so that I can notice that there is a message that may contain very important info.

Cellphones are great for emergencies. I keep mine on all the time to assure I don't miss anything of importance.

It should be turned on in case of a family emergency too.
