Skin cuts near the nails are very painful and I have to say that my skin is very sensitive below the nails especially during the winter! I usually have a manicure every 2-3 months and yesterday I decided to try a new lady who works at her house and my friends recommended her.
It's been a long time since my last professional manicure so the lady wanted to cut my cuticles before painting my nails. She was really careful during the whole process but I felt some pain just before she finished, so I looked at my nails and I saw blood, she had accidentally cut my skin on my left ring finger and I was bleeding.
I thought that the bleeding would stop but I realised that the cut was deep and she couldn't finish with the nail painting. I had to sit there for an hour waiting for the cut get clean before she continues, and now I have a nice manicure with a bandage wrapped around that finger!
It's really painful, especially when I am using sanitiser! But the rest of my nails look nice, I selected a bright, vivid red colour that looks amazing!
I am so dissapointed and I don't know if I want to go there again! Maybe it is a specific incident because my friends are very happy with her work and they never had any problems and additionally, she has great prices. Would you use the same beuty salon again if something like that had happened to you?

I might would give her one more chance, but then if she did something I felt wasn't right then I would stop going to her after that. I mean your friends had great reviews of her. Perhaps you could ask your friends if they'd ever had anything like that happen to them with her?

Her work was great and she is around 30% cheaper from the other places in my city. My freinds are very satisfied with her and they don't have any complains. In fact, I met one of them after yesterday's appointment and when she saw my finger bleeding she was shocked. I will have to think about it but even if I go there again, I will just do the colouring and not the full manicure.

Actually my middle finger is still paining since the lady manicurist cut some cuticle deeper.
It hurts and now I am taking antibiotics to avoid infection.
I think I need to clean my nails from now on.

I have never ever let my nails be cleaned in the beauty parlor, because I just clean it myself and no manicure, just plain cleaning.Manicure can be dangerous to your nails
skin and health as a whole, because the chemicals used before putting those nail polish, there was that manicure remover, then the cuticle remover and finally the manicure, that as the doctor says that frequent painting to the nails can endanger the
durability of the nails and surroundings, which greatly affects your health as a whole
that is why my family are extra careful never to use any brand of nail polish in their nails. They only have their nails clean whether they do it themselves or it maybe done at the beauty parlor.

I know that they have chemicals but I am a huge fan of painted nails so even if I don't go to the manicurist, I paint them myself. I don't like to see my nails without nail polish, although it looks nice when I see people having natural, shiny and clean nails.

Hi Be! I go to the salon to have manicure and pedicure every week and since my fingernails are always cleaned, they are quite thin and sensitive. While the manicurist is trimming or removing the cuticles, I would also be watchful because my skin is already very sensitive in those areas because of regular cutting. So I would directly withdraw my hand if I feel that the manicurist is doing it quickly and so I would tell them to do it slowly since they might accidentally cut my skin. I don't want to be served by any manicurist who had already harmed my skin. I would usually say, no, I want another lady to do the manicure.

If your friends have no problem with her, maybe its her first time to commit mistake when doing a manicure. I think everyone commits mistake because we are only human. As for me, well, I would never come back if that happen to me. Its difficult to trust someone who already did something wrong but, like I said, everyone commits mistake and it depends on person if she will give her another chance.

I haven't heard that something similar has happened to any of my friends, they are all very happy with that lady! It would be great if this incident hadn't happened because she is a lot cheaper and does a great work at painting nails, especially with designs (little flowers, strass and uncommon colours for french manicure).

These things happen and your skin is not more sensitive as anyone elses. It will heal and a fast way is to pull the wound together with bandage (pleister?).
Also wounds/cuts will cure way faster with: hemorrhoid cream (don't know if you know the brand: Sperti (smell is not great).

I have never heard about the hemorrhoid cream as a solution for cuts! I couldn't use a bandage at first because it would ruin the nail polish. Since I paid for the manicure I would like to see it last!
The wounds have now closed and they are in the healing process so I will not need it this time. I will definitely look about the benefits of your solution though because I would like to know if it works!

hi besweet As I have diabetes and a cut like that if deep might get infected so no I would not ever go to that manicurist again as they are supposed to be very careful and for a diabetic that could lead to an infection and much pain and suffering not to mention blood poisoning too,.I really suggest that you change
manicurists and not return to the one who cut you at all.

Oh, you must be extra careful if there are so many hazards! In any case, it is not healthy to get this kind of cuts even if the tools are clean. I also believe that I won't go back for a full manicure in the future, maybe just for shape and colour if I decide to. This has never happened to me before and it is still very painful.

Ugh, I absolutely hate that! It does hurt a lot.
I do not get pedicures anymore for that very reason. I went one time and they are not gentle with people at all. It was my first pedicure, and they made me bleed so bad. I was in so much pain! I have never ever gotten another pedicure done and I wouldn't! I am so scared it will happen again. For my sisters wedding the whole bridal party got a pedicure done...except for me. I didn't care, I didn't want to be in pain for her wedding!

My other manicurist was more careful and I think she might had only scratched my skin a couple of times but without any blood. I still have the healing wounds on my cuticles and I am not going to have another manicure in the near future! I will paint my nails ny myself and when the time comes I will decide wether I am going to use the same lady or not!
