I want to start by saying this : everybody is different and what works for some doesn't for others. It's valid especially for diets, because each body has a different metabolism. On the other hand, this diet I'm going to talk to you about worked for 99% of the people that I know tried it. Only one of them couldn't keep it but because of her own lack of will. Cutting things short : Dukan diet is a very popular one right now that teaches the body to consume properly what we feed it.I put on a lot of weight because of contraceptive pills, recommended by my doctor. I couldn't loose those extra 10 kg - 30 lbs for the world! Even worse, i gained 10kg more! I was really unhappy and desperate. And believe me, when you have 20 kg more than you should you don't feel like exercising, mostly because your heart can't handle properly the extra weight and you get tired very fast. So i found this diet and i chose it because i liked its principles : it eliminates at first all the "free energy" your body can get -sugar and fats and forces it to process proteins, as it should, into the right products that your body can use for energy. The advantages of this : your muscles don't loose mass, as they are fed proteins and your metabolism is forced to jump-start and not be a sloth anymore. This consists of a short shock period of 2-7 days in which only proteins will be eaten After this, you start reintroducing other things, like vegetables and later on fruits and nuts and little by little all the things we used to eat. The fun part is the site of the diet offers recipes and replacement for things we could miss, like healthy sweetners, salads, smoothies, bread etc. You don't even feel like dieting at times :) So my advice, don't loose time on false products that promis you quick weight loss, don't force your body with stupid powders, pills and even very hard exercises. Try this Dukan diet, see that weight loss is possible, and after the first few kilos, you'll even be tempted to exercise! Has any of you heard of it before? Have you tried it? If so, what were your results?

Hey, laura9191! Use any search engine you have available, even the mylot one and search for : Dukan diet. And among the first results you will find the original site of the man himself (he's a doctor)with all the rules of the diet, allowed products, interdictions, recipes and, most importantly a calculator of one's true mass. You input your personal data ; height, weight, constitution, age, no. of diets you had so far, etc and you receive a feed-back on your ideal, healthy weight and an aproximation on how long it would take you to get to it following the diet and the length of each of its steps (the diet has 4 steps/periods) Hope this information is useful to you and good luck! Let us know the results if you do decide to follow it :D

Well i am glad to hear about Dukan diet as i had no idea about this diet before. It is good to know that this diet has worked wonders for others. i know the diet would be difficult for some to practice but if it provides a guarantee to tone down the body then it should be practiced without having any second thoughts.

Hello,subhojit10 and thank you for your answer! Just wanted to ask you why you consider the diet difficult to practice? For me , for example it wasn't too hard because I didn't have to change my eating habits, when and how much I ate and trust me, i had no regular schedual. Being an arhitect i sometimes was in the field all day and got to eat in the evening or had to pull all-nighters to finish work. And yet i did loose the weight. Just had to replace some ingredients and ways of preparing my food which, in my opinion is not such a big inconvenience, especially in the light of the result. So what do you think is hard to handle about this diet?
