3 month's ago i was working in a greenhouse and my mother noticed i had a rash all over my back.I assumed i was allergic to some sort of plant and stopped going into the greenhouse for a few day's.The rash stayed, i made a doctor appointment but the only appointment i could get was 4 week's later so i went to a urgent care. The doctor there told me that it looked like an allergic reaction to some food and should clear up in a few day's.The rash ended up clearing up and less than a month later showed up again on my rib's.I don't think it's from food because i haven't eaten anything different.I have made another doctor appointment this time with my actual doctor but that isn't until 3 week's from now.It doesn't itch, it's a circle shape at first it's red than it turn's brown and look's like it has dried skin.do you have any idea what it could be?

It could be some kind of contact dermatitis. An allergy that is not generalized as food allergy but from some allergens that comes in contact with your skin.It can be caused by skin products like lotions, powders or shower gels.It could be sun rash that is common during summer season. The best thing you can do is to visit a doctor preferably a dermatologist. There can be so many generalized disease that presents as a rash like systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) and Psoriasis.Your doctor can run laboratory investigations to have diagnosis.

I had a similar looking rash on my shoulders. A frien d told me she had taken her son to the doctor with the same thing. As suggested, the diagnosis was some sort of contact dermatitis. The only way I got rid of it was by rubbing medicated head and shoulders shampoo on it after getting out of the shower. It has contact dermatitis written on the bottle. Rub it on, the put a t-shirt on so it doesn't rub off. Leave it on over night. It smells like sulfur, and stinks like crazy, so be sure to shower before going out the next day. Also, be careful because it can cause a chemical burn if you do it to often, but it will get rid of the rash.

If it is not from food, then it must be something in your house. Did you use a new kind of soap, lotion or shampoo? Or maybe a new cologne perhaps? Maybe the detergent that was used to wash your beddings or a new air freshner?

I was thinking it was from a shower gel my sister gave me from Avon but i stopped using it and the rash came back :(

Just take note of what you have eaten in a day and what other things you may have touched so that you'd know which one is giving you those allergic reactions.

You may want to check if it is ringworm since it is circular. For these skin reactions, I would advise that you stay away from fungus diet like mushrooms, truffles, black fungus and etc., stick to green leafy vegetables and lots of fruits. You may want to check your symptoms online with the reference provided below which may help you before your appointment. It is a symptom checker where you simply go through a list of multiple choice questionnaire while it determines what you are having, it is gender oriented too. Hope it will help you here. craftybird I suggest seeing a dermatologist. I will never forget when my daughter as a toddler had a diaper rash and we visited her pediatrician for months and months trying to cure it. Finally my friend said see a dermatologist ..I did and the rash was cured within a week..I was delighted and angry at the same time..why couldn't the pediatrician tell me to see a dermatologist and spare us all that agony!

I do not think if that is for food allergy, it even can happen for some cloth material if you have allergy or some cream, soap, and if you feel dryness in that side, then try to apply some oil like almond of olive on it.. wash and dry it then apply some oil, of if you do not want that then if your doctor gave you any lotion for skin allergy try that and see the result. if that is allergy it should be alright in maximum 10-14 days of using your ointment..

I would tell you to look into Hives, but you say that it does not itch so i guess that's not it, because hives itch... You have some sort of an allergy, remember that whatever this is, something triggered it. Food, Bewerages, parfumes and other products that come into contact with your skin, or your clothes and bed sheets that also come into contact with your skin, the sun, could be bugs, some plant/s. Something in the air, it could be many things but keep healthy, drink a lot of water, eat fruits, veggies, and let the body heal itself and most importantly. When and if your doctor perscribes cortisone pills or cremes whatever steroids whatever toxic chemicals he might want to give you to treat Symptoms and not the root cause, dont take them, they might make the symptoms go away but its like if a pipe in a car has a hole it it, and you tape it, and it opens again, and you keep taping and taping and taping treating symptoms and not the root cause, how long will it take for the car to break down completely? its a metaphore, the car being your body :)

I think it may be due to sun. I mean, does this rash appear only during summer? If so, just use some sunscreen lotions. Soaps or shower bars with Olive Oil may help a little in reducing the rashes. It is summer here, and I have red patches all over my both Fore Arms. I just apply some talcum powders and olive oil soap to reduce the effect. And I avoid mostly going directly under the sun.

Best to visit a doctor for this one. It's been 3 months and you should have visited a doctor already. Thu it doesn't itch but still you need to seek professional advice before something worse happen.

Hi, May be it is due to the heatwaves / weather change or any medicinces you took which might be allergetic. My husband too had similar rashes on his back and the doctor has advised us to apply coconut oil mixed with camphor. Also gave him a tablet. Now he's back in form an the rash is slowly disappearing.

I had that before..but in my case It was itchy .. it looks like a reddish round shape located at my back, at first I though it was an acne ( or something like that ) but i had tried a lot of brands from cheapest to expensive creams but to no effect, I also consulted a doctor and just like you my doctor said that it's just an allergy and still no effect.. until I decided to stop with my medication I'll just avoid exposure with the dust,it's suddenly disappeared..and one doctor told me sometimes skin abnormalities caused by stress... so maybe your case is stress related one.
