Opportunity to Make Real Good Friends

April 1, 2013 2:26am CST
Would you believe, like I believe that being actively involved in sites like this gives one the opportunity to make real friends? Online friends may not be so real as others may just not be willing to reveal who they really are (which I totally understand because of protection issues) but the fact that we could get in touch regularly by responding to what we're posting makes friendship a bit meaningful just the same. Replying is not just for the sake of commenting per se. I believe that many of the "commenters" are sincere insofar as giving advice is concerned. When prayers are solicited by posting, I believe that many out there really prayed. That is why I believe that we all have the opportunity to find real friends here and anywhere where communication is encouraged. What do you think?

Yes having a site here like this to come too is a great way of communication and great way to get to know everyone in here as well. A lot of us do start off as strangers and end up friend. Their are people here I have talked with on the phone even and it is a great feeling for sure.

Really? I haven't talked to any online friends by phone. I really hope I could have many true friends online. It's kind of encouraging to start off as online friends, know many things about them and their countries or places where they live, their profession, hobbies, inspirations...well, I believe, I would come to that point soon..

totaly agree with you frnd. These social sites pave a way for frendship. By sharing our views here on regular basis we get to knw much about others and about their mindset. As we continuously interact with each other a bond a made between us which is much more than mere commenting just for the sake of commenting

That's right. As a matter of fact, it is through our writing that we get to really allow people in our social online sites to know the truer part of us. Through the comments and posts that we contribute, we already give our signature, we are giving a piece of our selves, the deeper person in us. That's how friendship should be, right? When we are comfortable talking and exchanging ideas..

That is true. I have found a few here that I have become somewhat close to. I have never asked their real names coz I know that they would like to keep that part. And I am fine with that. I think a genuine friend is possible through this site as well. Well, the trust is something that one should build along the way.

Thank you for agreeing with me that genuine friendship could possibly take place online and even at this site. I have also learned to respect the "persons" behind each usernames because I myself would prefer some anonimity...except maybe for some rare situations. Nevertheless, I still became friends with most of them.
