I change my views

After I realized churchianity is not really that so important, I change my views. I don't go to church anymore. Before I used to think that my grandfather will go to hell because I never saw him attend Sunday mass or any big religious event. Now, we are just the same, last Easter most people are in the church but we are at home doing our favorite chores. I used to think that my Catholic relatives are doomed and my Protestant family is saved. However as of today, I realized it has nothing to do with religion. The church goer and non-churgoer all knows how to do good and sin every now and then. My grandfather is responsible and my relatives are generous. I will not be doomed for not attending church because I care for myself and people around me. I even do good things to them. The doomed thing, I guess only God knows who are doomed and who are not.

Exactly because churchianity is different from Christianity. I have left the catholic religion two years ago, and I became a Born-Again Christian. Before anyone stereotypes once again, I am Christian but currently I don't have any church affiliations. Nevertheless, I am praying to GOD to help me find a sincere church group. My whole clan are catholics, being that said my parents are catholic of course, it was a difficult decision, not to mention some or probably most of my relatives think of me different now, worse some of them judge me because of ridiculous reasons (like since I no longer go to their church, that I will not be bless etc.) when in fact, if you really believe in GOD Jesus Christ, you should believe that wherever you maybe, you can always talk to him by simply praying to him personally and tell him whatever your heart feels or desires. "Ephesians 2:8-9 (King James Version) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the Gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast." It's really simple, just accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour, repent and be saved.

Yeah, I used to think that religions will saved but it seems that even a Buddhist can be saved provided he has good ideals and Jesus sees his heart. I don't judge people now based on their religions. I respect their beliefs. Yes, they could be blind but who we are to judge? They have faith too, only not so accurate.

Well according to the Bible, we are saved through faith, and that is faith in Jesus Christ. I remember reading a cartoon tract from a site that a fellow mylotter shared on one discussion, you should check it out and you could even share it to other people. http://chick.com/reading/tracts/0100/0100_01.asp

Great cartoon tracts, thanks. I come to a realization that this world really has many lures and traps and so Jesus came to save our soul right away not just in hell but right here on earth.

Perhaps religion is really not that important but then again, if a person grows without any values from any religion, I guess those persons would become ignorant on what is right or wrong. Just my thought :)

Moral values is not limited to church. It can be learned in school, at home, in TV or in books. Ignorant of right or wrong, I guess we all have basic ideas of what is good and bad.

I'm just glad that it is not up to any of us who live on this planet to decide who are doomed and who are saved. God will make that decision with no input from us at all. I would truly hate to have that responsibility.

When I am a strong supporter of a specific religion, I assume that all the rest are doomed and only those who practice same religion as mine will be saved. But today, I guess it's not true. It's just a small portion of how a person truly lived his life.

That is how it should be. You should stand by your beliefs unless and until someone can prove to you from the Bible that your beliefs are wrong and that another way is right. The Bible is God's letter to us to let us know how he wants us to live and how he wants us to worship him.

I've been a person that is Christian but chooses to not go to church for a long time now. The reason that I don't go to church is because there are certain things about every church that I've ever been in that I don't agree with. I feel like going into a church that teaches beliefs that don't agree with my own is being a hypocrit and we are taught to not be hypocritical. I do say my prayers and I do believe that I will go to heaven at the conclusion of my life.

I've been away from church because I feel God does not care at me during my critical times. I thought what's the point of going, when he don't really care? Also, the more broken and loser I am I don't have the courage to go to church. I do also find that most church big time people loves successful people and if you don't level up with them your out of the game. We may even feel rejected at church instead of accepted. Anyway, I learned to be more practical in life than religious.

i think it is not important how many times we go to church, the most important thing is we live what god truly wants us to be. some people go to church all the time or are religious but their attitude and character in life and towards others are really not a good example or not that good. also some people go to church for the sake of going and most of them are not really praying or living out or putting to heart what they hear or learn in the church. it is up to us, if we will go to church or not., as long as we are responsible people, that's all that matters.

People just go for the sake of going and for the sake of duty. Nevertheless, we have other duties and though they are not religious by nature like washing your clothes, God sees it too.

Hi averygirl72, I agree with you on this. I am a catholic but I do not practice its belief nor participate with their traditional ceremonies and such. However, I have faith in God, and I am confident that although I do not go to church that often, it does not mean that come the judgement day, I do not have a chance of being saved. It's all about faith in God I guess, regardless of your religion. Have a good day to you!
