We get different results of temperature

My sister took a temperature of my father to see if he has fever. Usually I would notice that she would not place the thermometer correctly under the armpits. So I also took the temperature of my father and my results is always higher than hers. She said I had wrong results. I said that's not possible because when you make mistakes you will get lower results than the real temperature. It's not possible to get higher results than the real body temperature if the gadget is in good condition. We used both digital thermometer and mercurial thermometer which is made of glass I got the same high results in both and she got both lower results. I will usually take the temperature immediately after she had taken body temperature. So that we will see and compare the results immediately.

I remember this problem has puzzled my family for a really long time.During that time,my parents hold two different opinions exactlly like U and Ur sis.But maybe the thermometer is just not working that moment,possible?

In taking a temperature it should be in the proper place for you to get a good and correct temp. if it is not in the proper place you will have a wrong reading and low. The accurate thermometer is the one who have a mercury but now it is not advisable to use because of its mercury content.

Body temperature is something that is never constant. And if someone is having a fever the temperature generally tends to go up, even in a fraction of seconds. So it might be possible that your sister placed the thermometer right and just because he took the reading after she did the temperature showed different. Could be possible.

In what state is your father? I`m askng because I remember that I placed the thermometer inside my daghter`s mouths when they were little as they fidgeted too much when I tried in the armpit. That`s more accurate.

Hi,
I think your sister is making mistake in putting thermometer properly. Because high temperature can not be shown by the thermometer again and again. But I think you should not think bout who is wrong or right or what is the reason of difference in temperatures of thermometer but you should get the treatment of doctor to your father and he will be alright.

this is something that couldn't be in DOUBT. so if you two are having arguments who is right or wrong, better bring your father to the hospital. If you are in doubt no one could make the best analysis of the situation and present status except the authorities themselves. This is health at stake. and it doesn't matter who is right or who is wrong. the most important is your father is safe and if he is sick he could be treated immediately.

well, gadgets must be consistent in this case. i am not sure in which stage mistakes have been done, but it sounds like there must be something that has gobe wrong. anyway, it sounds like your having a fantastic sister where you can do something together.

In my opinion, the body temperature of your father is most likely the one you have measured. Because there is no way that the thermometer can mistakenly get a higher temperature. There is nothing around your dad to affect the measurement result. However it is definitely the case when lower temperature is measured because the thermometer is obviously wrongly placed thus not getting the accurate result.

This is very important to say that every individual had it own observation ,in pracise when we do some work there be a definately a slighther different arose of different people observation have different result as for example if a teacher give lecture to 10 student all have different capacity to understand , again when adifferent chaf make same food having same identical ingedent their taste occur different same the case in thermometer where and which place or body part have different warm position

hey buddy, dont fight with your sister in that but the best way to test that who is correct is to put the thermometer in mouth below tongue and check the real reading. Its the best way to check temperature. And by this you both will get to know whose temperature is best. All the best!!!
