So tired of doing the laundry as in the old times of doing our washing machine just got crashed and this day just really so gotten to my nerve literally pulling away each clothes and washed manually. I wonder how do fabulous clothes like in European countries their old clothes with thick cloth and long gown clothes being washed manually that probably a worst nightmare. ha ha any ideas on these sudden thinking of mine about the old times way of washing their clothes?

Me too. There are some clothes I rather handwash and then sometimes I want a special garment and I have not enough clothes to fill the washing machine.

I'm in Europe, and still wash all our laundry by hand Of course, in the days of fabulous gowns, they'd have had a servant to do the laundry!

We make our choices and have to live with them! My hands only hurt in winter as I often do it in cold water as heating it takes so long.

Hi ! All i can say about a traditional way of washing is very time consuming and very tiring like all your energies are given out if you washed clothes with your bare hands only. In the other side , it preserved our clothes also because clothes are not twisted and twisted so our dress would always be looking new thought bit old already. If sometime my washing will be out of order , i will not really washed manually but bring it to laundry station. I can't used my time for washing and washing ,i'd rather do something productive than doing manual washing.

I love to wear short dress, in case of any emergency to wash by me it will not be so hard , as having small dresses... but yes, I also think how terrible was in the time there was no washing machine and how much people waste time and energy to wash dresses daily.. thanks a lot to washing machine. I hope that your machine is fine and works well now...

Yes friend, wash manually so hard, you must take one by one of your clothes and clean it. I think use washing machine very useful to reduce your duty. Yes, you are right, there are many kinds of clothes that should washed manually, because their material cannot washed by washing machine, yes it is very hard, but it is the best way for special clothes.

Then people were not as clean as we are. Some people centuries ago never even took a bath in their whole lives. And clothes were washed every now and then. Even now, queen are not supposed to use they clothes many times. Nothing to do with me: I have some clothes that are over 20 years old. I suggest you wash the smalled clothes manually everyday (and sundry them), tell everybody at home to take better care of their clothes (my granddaughter leaved eveything on the floor). And the biggest stuff (sheets and towels) can go to a laundromat once a week.

It really gets tiring washing my clothes. We send most of them to a laundry shop, though, just to lessen the load. What's great about it is they pick up and deliver clothes to our apartment so we don't have to send them there.

We still do that in our country. Most of us still do the traditional way of washing the clothes. Even those who have bought washing machines end up doing the laundry by hand for some reason. There are many women who would do the laundry for low cost.

The dryer part of my washing machine is grounded. Repairman has not come over to fix the house. So what I would do is turn off the machine prior to loading the clothes to the dryer to avoid having shock. But it could be tiring to do that. So a few days back, I just manually wring all clothes. Anyway, it was a very hot day and all the clothes were dry in a matter of four hours.

Hi Inopiratum Wow I do laundry every day so for me this would be a full time job if I had to do my laundry by hand. I am thankful everyday for my modern appliances also you would have to have very strong hands as you would have to wring out the clothes. Just another thing to be grateful for.

It will be very tiring for me having to wash clothing the traditional way. When I was younger, I did that but not for now. I usually put my clothing in a laundry bag and doing it in the washing machine. While the machine is running, I get to do some other work.

exactly you can do 2 things at the same time with washing machine unlike with manual washing
