I know! We played OUTSIDE!!! Rode bikes, played on the rail road tracks..played at the play ground at the school and we could roam the neighborhood freely till the street lights came on...then we had to go home!Remember those metal shoe roller skates...where you strapped the skate onto your foot while wearing shoes? And read... we'd take our books outside and read!

Oh yes I remember a lot of things I played with or as as a kid. Hop scoot was one of them, jump rope, tag, playing on the play aground, playing wall ball or even four squares. I played with baby dollars they weren't woodenl but plastic, like babries and such. Stuff animals and doll houses where my favorite. I loved to play with my toys as a child then playing with other kids.

Oh my gosh...do you remember dolls that didn't DO anything!!??! My and my sister had probably 10 between us and we always played (what we called) "house" and always had half a dozen "babies" each. We had a wooden cradle (which I still have and fixed up for my grand daughters to play with!) and a tin "kitchen set" we called it...it was from a yard sale and it was tin and we had a stove/sink unit and a fridge unit. We played with those till the paint was worn off them! And WE had to make them speak, and cry and we PRETENDED they went potty instead of them actually doing it! And we fed them and WE made them burp. About 2 years ago.. I literally searched every store in town to find a doll that DID NOTHING to give to my grand daughters... I found a Baby Alive...on sale...that did nothing and had a plastic body so that they could be given a bath FOR REAL! Never forget when my sister and I got this long tub thing that we used as a bathinette! We thought we were just so lucky!!!

I was born in the late 80's. so we had dolls that would pee pr pretend to eat and dolls that did nothing. We had babries, the ones that would sleep, the ones the size of a small girls, ones that had horses that moved. Animals that moved and make sounds. Plastic doll houses and stuff. Yes Twister was a game of my child hood. My favorite toy back then was a stuffed rabbit that I named bun bum. I remember my little phones and strawberry short cake dolls. Cabbage patch dolls.

Somehow, while still quite young, maybe 6, I lost the original one, but carried on so that they got me another one. I still have that one. I also have a horse that I got in Point Pleasant New Jersey. My grandfather had a shore house in Point Pleasant Beach. My brother suggested the name "Ocean Spray", He looks seriously worse for wear, but I still have him as well.

When I was a child, I like to play G.I. Joe toys. If my brother has it, I want to have it too. I am not fascinated with barbie dolls. I do not know why.

I used to go to the library and get books to read. We lived just 3 blocks from the library, and it was the one place besides school that I was allowed to walk to by myself.

Kids today are literally robbed of toy entertainment these days. We had so many fun toys...that we could actually PLAY with instead of just press buttons. Plastic army men, skip tape, barbie dolls that weren't real barbies...and made our own houses for them. Marbles, and yes...climbing trees and digging holes! Hopscotch and troll dolls. BOARD GAMES!!!!! I keep trying to teach/play with my grand kids the things I used to do as a kid...they LOVE everything I teach them to play!!! Even board games! And when I told the girls the BEST EVER hopscotch marker is a small piece of chain..they thought I was nuts, but when I used one against their rock or bead...they were totally amazed and wanted one too! So many memories!

My favorite toy as a child was my ALF that I had got for Christmas one year. Even after the voice box wouldn't work anymore I still kept it and played with it.
