I made a pork shoulder the other day for dinner.. just made part of it into pulled bbq pork. I'm searching online as to what else I could possibly make with it aside from pancit. I want something different of course than what I usually make but I don't have extra money to buy alot of extra things other than what I have on hand. I've been looking up Asian pork and noodle meals thus far for ideas.

Us mexicans put it in a crock pot with a can of coca cola and liquid smoke. Let it cook till it falls off the bone. Make great pork tacos with it..

Okay. Good recipe. Us Americans will steal that to cook next week.

Its really good, you can also do beef that way and put bbq sauce on it. Makes great sandwhiches...

Well, you've already mentioned one of the two things that I immediately thought of when you mentioned a pork shoulder. However, you didn't mention the other thing that I would do with a good piece of pork. The other thing that I would make would be a pork roast with potatoes and carrots. The reason that I like doing this so much is because of the fact that this is one of the kind of meals that I can just put into the crock pot at the beginning of the day and then it will be ready for us when we are ready to eat in the evening.

I have no suggestion, but my stomach suddenly rumbled at the mention of pancit.
I've been craving for good old pancit bihon since I got here and I swear I tried to create my mom's cooking and I failed big time.
I hope you get to figure out something really awesome with the pork, and how I wish you can share it with me!

What is pancit? Now I am interested. My recipe was for it to be cooked in crock pot but added a few different things to spice it up

Anything you use chicken for, you can use pork. How about cooking it with some gravy and serve it over rice or noodles? Or a rice and vegetable stir fry with pork? A pot pie. Mix it with cream of chicken or mushroom soup (or make your own), vegetables, and cover it with a biscuit batter or mashed potatoes and bake it into a yummy casserole. Put it in the crock pot with applesauce/apples and onions and serve it over noodles or rice or toast. Pork is delicious when you mix it with apples. If you don't have apples, use apple juice.

hi3snugglebunnies since yuo have pulled bbq pork why not something simple likke real pork with canned or cooked beans as an easy and different style dish.Beans are so good for us and pork and beans do go well together too I know they are nothing fancy but sometimes old fashioned sim
ple can be tasty too.

What I would do is to cook it in the crock pot along with carrots, onions and potatoes. I would also put in a couple of peeled and cut up cooking apples in the gravy. I would have sesoned the pork overnight if possible before cooking with salt, pepper and garlic and anything else you may want. In addition if you have any marmalade or apricot or peach jam then smear the joint with this before cooking. About 45 mins before it is cooked then add some flour or cornflour in water and then mix in with juices in crockpot to make the gravy nice and thick. Cook again for 30 - 45 minutes. Voila! A wondeul complete meal and if it is too much food then freeze it for another dinner next week.

I love all sorts of pork casseroles and you can put into the pot whatever you have. I aslways check on recipes online for ideas, but at the end, the dish has to do with what I have in my fridge. As for spices, I always keep a fair share of them. How about you?
