The Blind Side

Television is a bore, until a station comes up with inspiring movies like The Blind Side, starring Sandra Bullock. The movie is a true to life story of that NFL hunk of an athlete called Michael Oher, a black kid adopted by a white family who adores football, and a staunch supporter of Old Mississippi University, the family alma mater. I enjoyed the movie tremendously, for many reasons, foremost of which is, it's a story of a child lost, found love in the most unlikely of people, and succeeded in the game he was destined to find glory. The Blind Side, it's a term unfamiliar to a none football fan as me, for the sport is not a game in my country, but I understand well enough, it's life and loving, when one's basic instinct is to protect the family he loves. Only then does he find his own, his love and his life.

I have not seen this movie. I would love to whenever I get a chance. If I am not mistaken, Sandra Bullock's role in The Blind Side got her to receive an Oscar for Best Actress two years ago.

I am the sporty type, too. I believe that families must engage in at least one sport.

i, too, really loved that movie and watch it when ever it comes on tv. i find that the couple really saved Michael from a life of despair. it is too bad there aren't more families (that can afford to) follow this example.

The family is the basic unit of society, and I believe every child needs to be in one. In the recent years, there are a significant number of couples adopting children, so I think the tide is turning, for the orphans and the lost children... Let's hope that every kid be given the chance to find their corners in the sky.

This really is a movie that is a good one. It seems that there are far too many times in today's world that the new movies that are being made are a little bit stale because of the fact that they are based on a movie that was made many years ago. The same is also true of the television shows that are made today as well and it does get quite frustrating. I really like seeing a good movie like The Blind Side, they really are a breath of fresh air in my opinion.

And you know what? I did search Michael on the net, ha ha. I know that boy is not just a game changer, he is a family love setter. Indeed, a breath of fresh air for all of us so tight up in our selves and the ones we love. We have so much love we can share to so many, still.

It's a very inspiring movie, a heart touching one. If many families offer such love to many a kid troubled in the streets, then this world would be less scary and a little more happy to live in, even if we were to spend time watching football.

Invictus is another inspiring movie that was not really about sports, it was the story of how South Africa managed to win the rugby World Cup with Mandela as the new president. Some details were missing to make it more inspiring though, for example they did not mention that the New Zealand team was hit by very bad food poisoning causing them to lose the final to South Africa:)

Thanks for reminding me about Invictus, I will watch it again and write my take on it. Loved that movie, of course.

I saw this in the theater with my family. I'm no football fan either, but I found the movie very compelling since the movie isn't really about the sport but about love. The ability of a person who cared enough about another person reach beyond their comfort zone and improve everyone around them.

Yes, it's about love, and in loving someone, most unlikely of people to love, because Michael was just a kid in the streets, then we find ourselves, too, because we realize that we are capable on extending that love to those who need our love most.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. But you need to have a box of kleenex available and it's a true story. Love does conquer all...as far as I am concerned. And it sometimes comes from unusual places.

It's a heart touching film, a true story, and I love it, because it showed how we human beings can overcome obstacles such as apartheid, so we can profess our love for our fellow man.

Love every single movie of Sandra Bullock, no matter how simple the plot or how outrageous. Am a Sandra Bullock fan.
