I believe the existence of forces in everything that has a connection with the life on earth. Forces such as faith ; good or bad has an impact to every man's lives. We develop stress because of worries. But try not to worry and be optimist , everything will just pass.

I also think that optimistic people tend to live longer than those who aren't. The reason for my belief is that I think you can enjoy life more if you stop worrying about things. If you worry about these things too much, you will feel very pressured and end up feeling very very stressed. So if you're an optimistic person, things like this won't happen as often. Instead, it would be like having a worry free life. I think that the less stress you have, the healthier you are.

I believe that the age group in the study tends to be much happier and optimistic since they've almost reach all their goals. At that age, they might already found satisfaction in life and living with no worries anymore. Unlike the younger generation that needs to study to get work and work to get money and use the money to live. Very very stressful! So let's start having a positive disposition in life as early as we can. Let's use optimism to face challenges and find better ways to solve them. Yey for positivity! ;)

Woow...your opinion is great. Most older people tend to happier because they have reach what they want, and they also spend their rest time to keep relax and enjoy live. While young people must fight to survival and get their goal, so they tend stress, but their body stronger for fighting their live, it is differ with older people.

Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it much since I'm new here :) I can also observe my grandfather, he's now in his 80s. Since I've lived with grandparents for all my childhood, I've noticed that he's not that short tempered anymore. He just sit in his rocking chair, reads newspaper, watch boxing matches and even play with great gradnchildren now. I hope I can live as long as he does and be as strong as he is still now. Let's live to the fullest! :)

Yes. It is true that optimists live longer than those who are not. Basically, optimists (by the law of attraction) harvest positive things in life. Good health, happy family, wonderful career - to name a few of the positive attractions optimists get. Optimists also have sense of deeper faith and believe that Someone higher and greater is taking care of their needs.

Sounds completely logical to me. If you are an optimist and feel happy most of the time your body will stay in better health. If you are a pessimistic type person you will usually end up with cronic type pain within your body. Your body will tell you so much about how you are living your life. If you are content, overjoyed, or miserable. That is why I'm so happy that I'm an optimist. I feel for those people who are depressed and sad all the time. You can actually see it on their faces.

Hey srisahara, thank you very much for your discussion. I think it seems to be kind of true that optimist tend to live longer. Because they are happier from deep inside and i think they should be healtier. Sometimes a cure for some sickness, doctors actually advise patients to laugh out loud for a healthier life. And i think by being happy, it releases some endorphin in our body which provides some good benefits for our body.

I would agree with that. When we are under a lot of stress and experience a lot happening in our life it can really get us down. Some people start to have a lot of health issues from the stress over the years.

I would have to agree. I don't have a scientific explanation but I guess it all boils down on how you see your life. If one wants to love a full life, he can't live it if all he has are negative thoughts isn't it?

I agree. I think an optimist is more likely to live longer than a negative person. Negativity drains you and can lead to stress, depression, and other feelings that wear down the body. It's always a better choiceto see things in a positive light.

i think there could be good reasons for it to be true.. when people are thinking positively, when people are optimists, then there are sure many more reasons why someone is healthier, and someone lives longer... that only meant that they have more good things in life that they want to live for.

I think that this type of research does show that those who are enjoying their lives and are content with what they have do indeed live longer because having a positive attitude makes our bodies healthier. Happiness is a huge factor in our lives, we base a lot of things around what we want, and being able to be content with what we have is what will bring us a greater happiness then always dispairing about money and getting what it is that we "want" but not necessarily need. I do stress a lot... I have a lot of emotional stress and over the years I have found that because of this unhappiness I have gained weight, induced diseases (lactose intolerance), and created a space that wasn't the healthiest for myself. Getting back on track is the hard part. We should all strive to be happy, but know when to draw the line on worrying, despair and sorrow.
