Exercise after Laparoscopic Gallbladder Removal and Apendectomy

After laparoscopic removal of my appendix and gallbladder (same day surgery), the nurse told my husband that starting the following day I should walk two miles a day (a regime I have religiously followed since the day after my surgery four days ago). A nurse friend said that that sounded excessive and that the surgical nurse probably meant 2 miles in the course of a day. My friend thought that I was risking internal bleeding. Now I'm worried and the doctor is gone for the holiday. Please, help.
