autonomous robotics project

I am an engineering student and i am given an project to design a autonomous robot and know all about its functioning,requirments,how does it work,etc..
I searched the internet but the results shown were not interesting, so if anyone of you have faced such situation,please tell me some latest projects on "autonomous robots" and please also suggest me some sites which may help in this work.

Your an Engineering student, if it is right, then focus if not your not worth to be a student. Studies today are made very easy by computers. Autonomous robots is managed if not run by a machine programmed to do things what you want him to do. That machine is what we call MEMORY. Then think, if not try to buy one in the market and study how they made. It will be the easiest way.

thank you for your response but the thing i want to say is that,every time i think,the projects are already completed..I want some latest ideas which are not yet open to the whole world.So i just asked for such sites and as you said to buy from a market,when the internet itself is such a vast source of knowledge,i dont think buying a robot and then knowing about it would be good idea because i want to make it my self..
