To declaw or not declaw

A friend took in a stray kitten but when they found out he has Feline Leukemia they realized they could no longer keep it because it could pass the disease on to their other cats. Being animal lovers, we took him in even though we were not thinking of getting a cat (and have 2 dogs already). Since he has Feline Leukemia, he MUST be an inside cat. Knowing that, would you declaw him? Why or why not? We are trying to make a decision.
