Not taking the short cuts in my music editing program

I have a couple of cds I put on my computer, done as is, that is the man who record for the church concerts did not take all the parts where they walk up to the stage out. So I figured I would wait until I have a music editing software but they were so expensive. Well finally I get two Itune cards from my sons and now I have more then enough to pay for one. So I loads it on my Mac and then go all the way through every single song and tune I have and I do have a lot. Then after editing a few of the songs that took a while, I finally look and see, that there is a search item on the software and that means all I have to do is to look on my Itunes and type in the name of the song or tune, and the software goes right to it. So have you did something the long way around when you really could have taken a short cut? i

There have been times at work when someone will show me a shortcut on the computer. I say to myself "seriously! I've been doing this the long way for how long!" Sometimes on software I find the shortcut myself. With word and excel it's a continuous learning process finding out everything I can do, especially excel. When I download software, sometimes it seems so tedious to go to help and look at how to do something. Do you use the help menus on software?

I try it out first and then go to the help. I find the help does not help me that much maybe because I am more specific in the phrases I use and sometimes I find the answers there are more general. So when I get the software, I go to where the tabs are and start looking through the files, edits, etc. etc. and sometimes I find what I was looking for is not exactly where I expected it to be. Sounds very confusing and I am not exactly logical, but I guess neither are they.

With this touch screen thing, I am always worried about finger prints, and do not want to use the keyboard because do not like to have the battery run out so as quick. I have so many photos and music on it that it is half full. I do find it hard to get help as I do not like asking for help. And I think with the Ipad, it is like when one had computers years ago, only certain people like business people and university students had them so they still have that attitude with ipads. So do not like to ask in case they think I am not important enough or a spend thrift for having one.

Exactly! I have a heck of a time getting help with my phrases too. I do something similar. I read the files if something interesting shows up, and sooner or later I may get to work on the program itself in more than a basic manner. Some days I don't have the patience and some days I can play for hours getting it to work right. I just got Windows 8 on my new laptop. I like to think of myself as computer literate but I am a novice at this touch screen thing. It takes me places I don't want to be all day! Sooner or later I will adjust. And as long as you are not confused by your method, I think it's a "logical" way for you to go about it (grin).

absolutely many times.when you meet something new and want to solve it,you will have to take some detours unless you are helped by some great kind person.but in nowadays,it seems not possible.there are almost no short cuts at the beginning.without others' help, just do it by yourself, the process must be hard.so when we get the keys through our own efforts,we usually don't want to share them with others.finally, everyone can't take the short cuts at the beginning.that's my opinion.

I am wary about asking anyone for help because even though there are a few of us in our church who work with Macs and own Ipsds and Iphones as well as Macbooks or Imacs, there are some who think that we are fabulously wealthy because we do instead of realizing we saved for them, so we sort of do it ourselves without asking anyone.

Yes, Many times :) But it's good to try it out ourselves, the number of ways available until we find out the short cut. We get to learn so many things in the process. I've been using Ubuntu Linux for some time in one of my laptops, but now I'm wanting to try out Fedora. Installation of fedora is not as easy as ubuntu. In Ubuntu we need not burn a DVD but can download and install it just like any other software, but we have to burn a DVD for Fedora. In the process of trying to know how to install Fedora, I got to learn so many other things related to computers :)

I am not good at Linux, but good at music editing and have tried out the free ones. Trouble with the free ones, especially with Macs, when you edited a song, it is changed into the lower one. I did find it hard at first to burn a Cd. It is placed on a different section then it would be on Windows and if you want to make the copy of Cd quality all the time, you have to go to the advanced settings. Luckily I had lots of cds to try it out.
